Yesterday was the quickest I got in out of the 3 sessions I went to. Turned up at about 4.10 and there were no queues for the search table or turnstile. I hate being in the ground that early usually, but it was already pretty busy inside so the atmosphere was canny.

I played on a team with one of those too. She was rubbish so never played the full game until one week when we were a few players down. IIRC someone on our team tackled her after she failed to respond to the entire pitch and everyone on the sidelines shouting at her. Genuinely can't think of anything daft I thought about football, although I'm hardly an expert so there must be something.

Forgot to mention about security. It wasn't too bad getting in although the queue for lasses to get bags search got quite long (around 50 minutes before kick off) as there was only one woman searching bags and she'd run out of green ties to put on plastic bags with belongings in, so wouldn't let anyone through until she got some more. I wasn't searched at all and was also carrying an extra jacket over my arm which could've had anything in the pockets and wasn't checked. Generally it wasn't too bad, though when we got in I heard a woman say she'd accidentally grabbed her son's ticket (as he had gone through a different search queue with his dad) and had got through without being questioned.

What a shame, really feel for him.

That was getting right on my nerves by the end. I refuse to join in with those. Proper cringeworthy. Had a canny time at the matches anyway. I was pretty tired by the end though, tough work watching all this sport. The highlight for me was a young lass of about 4 years old who hadn't been remotely interested in anything going on, but saw a Japanese substitution and said extremely loudly "THEY BOTH LOOK THE SAME" to a bit of a chuckle from the crowd and a somewhat embarrassed dad. Back on Friday for the women's QF and Saturday for the men's. All these visits to SJP in a short space of time is starting to remind of the Championship season where we had a match every 2 minutes.
