Got to be a fan of this, him & Gordon for that position will be very good imo. He's an upgrade on Maxi, hard to say it but he is, so we're moving forward again. RW and LB next please.

Looking in to some of the singings, it appears we're taking players who have experience in this league and the league above. Amber Keegan Stobbs has played in the Championship for the past 5 years, for example. Hannah Greenwood played for Durham. Looks like we're adding quality and experience.

I think so, I do fly past a lot of posts without reading so I cant speak for the thread. If we were short of a LW, and we were after Barnes I'd be over the moon. Im still canny happy we're getting him, he's very good. I think it's just the questions it raises. Is he going to compete for that role with Maxi, Gordon and/or Joe? Does it mean we expect Joe to be playing more in CM? Is Maxi moving to the right? Which if he play's with Trippier as Almiron did surely that wont work? Or is he off? Is Gordon moving right? etc etc etc. I think if we'd been topld we were soon to sign x Right Winger, it'd have been an easier thing to compute given its expected and we understand the thinking. I think it's the leftfield nature that has so many people questioning it, imo.

I think it's more about the position we're potentially signing, rather than the player himself, who's clearly very good. I dont think anyone would have expected us to sign another LW, given the majority of us think the priority positions for new signings atm are RW, LB and CB.

Delighted for the lad to get to experience this and contribute in the way he has. I think he has a bright future here and I'm inclined to believe the seemingly multiple scouting reports from however many clubs that already rate him so highly and see a big future for him. I'm really curious to see where he plays and how he develops. Its interesting what Ancelotti said and I do think he's not too long for his current LW role, but I have no idea where he'll move position wise. I didnt see him moving from the LW position he's been playing in the immediate future, but if we do get Barnes and Maxi stays, maybe I'm wrong. I dont see him being placed in 3/4 player battle for 1 position, I think we rate him too highly for that.

I dont follow it closely, but isnt our concern more wages to income, rather than FFP spending? We have plenty of FFP wiggle room, but we're currently at like 94% wages to income? I suppose its a bit mute, but a signing position we're relatively well stocked in, increases our wage bill at the expense of another position?

Id be very surprised if we signed a LW now, unless Maxi is off or there are other plans for Gordon, neither I think are true.
