Ah aye, was never literal, but more the general aim. Just a musch less strict interpreation of offside and more in keeping with the point of it in the first place. With the new suggestion you'd be looking at "is the attackers left foot/right foot/chest/head in line with a defender?" Yes means they're on, No means they're off. So you're not going to get the ludicrous situation where someone's toe being 1 inch ahead of someone's hip means they're offside and the goal is denied. Instead it'd be a goal. Much more enjoyable. Imagine how many more goals would have been scored in the previous seasons if Wenger's implementation had been used. Would be mint.

Daylight?
