Positive Optimism - Saudi Takeover Edition

"The" only L O G I C A L outcome "is" that it MUST "be" C L O S E D Wait!!! Interesting how happy some people are when there is news that could negatively impact on our Takeover. Are you all from Sunderland? Nobody is happy about it. Other than Luke Edwards and Steve Bruce. You can't differentiate people wanting it to happen and not believing it will? Weird. Him and Whitley have had similar views about this in the past. Not being blindly optimistic = don't want it to happen/apparently mackem now as well. IMO, this thread would have been quite at home in the Twitter bullshit thread, it seems to be all it's about....... "Let's get ahead of ourselves over random twitter 'ITK's' and call it optimism". Honestly this board and the people within are not happy unless they are wallowing in shit and then complaining about it. The whole forum has become just one big misery wank fest. This thread was set up to try and counter attack the gloom and still the misery wankers come on. If I want misery I go on Twitter, this forum is no longer fun or entertaining and just like NUFC is now. Football is meant to be escapism, to support something and to be part of a collective. NUFC is now just a collective of misery and I wont let it drag me down. So last post in here......enjoy the misery that this forum oozes from every pore and post! -
Was thinking this earlier, and how they've been able to come up with a style of play where they dont play with a centre forward as such and have kind of got Jesus to play a bit more Firminho-ish. I think probably because Jesus just cant be an Aguero. Got me thinking what happens when Aguero is back. Do they need to change style to accommodate him now? They create so many chances at the minute you'd think Aguero coming in would convert a bucket load. But would they create as many chances with Aguero not floating as much as Jesus is doing? Probably nonsense really. Even if they create less chances than they do now but have Aguero front and centre then they probably end up scoring more anyway.

Dont want Barnsley fans in the PL, man. There'd be siblings necking on in the stands.

They need a better striker, maupay isn't good enough to rely goals on. I've said it often, but I'll say it again. Their strikers aren't just not good enough, they're horseshit. Maupay is a disgrace. The positions he gets himself in to only to fluff a weak shot pretty much every single time is embarrassing. If I was ever to put money on a Brighton goalscorer it'd be Dunk. It's astonishing they havent addressed it. They wouldn't need to spend much to drastically improve. EDIT: Fuck me. I forgot their last attempt to address it was the notoriously prolific Danny fucking Welbeck. If I was a Brighton fan I'd be furious.

Scrambles!

He's got a very romanticised view of his football career going off his twitter account

Not been a .com reader for a number of years now, but that's refreshing to read.

"Fulham have had a good week and won a couple of games, which at the bottom end of the table is big, but there are a few of us, Brighton, Burnley and maybe Crystal Palace looking over their shoulders. I've enjoyed coming to Old Trafford and having a go, but I need a few results and I'm quietly confident we'll get the results. "My message to the supporters is that I'm convinced we'll be OK." Fuuuuck me. "I've enjoyed coming to Old Trafford and having a go". Aye, sound mate. Glad you had a nice time. All's well eh?

Yep. He’s right that we have played better the last 5 games (no mention of it coinciding with Jones coming though and also no mention of the fact Fulham have only lost 1 in 7 and improving too). The way he went on about fans having an agenda against Bruce though as if we’re being harsh on him after being served up shit for 18 months was pathetic though. Yeah absolutely. And when he said Bruce continued Rafa's way of playing to suit the players before Bruce's decision to change that. Also pathetic nonsense. There was another. But the points about him seeing an improvement in the past 5 games and why would someone like him then agree with us that Bruce should be sacked now, is to be expected from a neutral, generic football pundit. Likewise the point about us not having the players over the past few years, to not be able to take the game to opponents and therefore being more cautious. Again, fair. Both massively lacking detail, but then, they're not going to go in to that level of detail. They all neglect to mention Bruce's inability to take whatever players he has at his disposal, improve them and create a well drilled, creative team. Be able understand the game and influence it as a manager. But we're not going to get that evel of consideration. We're not in the big 6. Gotta be a darling to be worthy of that kind of effort and air time.
