It's the margin of error change that really irks me. There's more refereeing "mistakes" now than there ever was before VAR. When you set the bar for contact or handball so low, more are given at the expense of a more exciting game. And if fine margins make a difference in decisions, teams and players will go trying to create them. Like Gyokeres tonight, or Dembele flicking the ball at whoever's hand last night. And the countless other examples. Maybe I'm getting old by being in the "Get up you clown" camp. It certainly made for a more exciting game.

VAR is the cause of this utter mess with decisions. They justify so many soft decisions everybody thinks soft decisions should be given, but if they all were it'd descend in to utter choas, so they try and temper it by refusing some soft decisions. And everyone's bar for what should be a foul/penalty has shifted. So the bar is so low, it utterly destroys the game and makes consistent decision making impossible. I cant stand it.
