  1. Shame alot of people think like him and let him off the hook by going "His teammates were shit!" "No service!" etc. It was all wank like. Aye
  2. Spot on. quayside, I think you are a good poster, but I think you are talking utter s*** about England - I have never read a string of posts I disagree with more. Sorry. FFS any reference to the advertising situation is irrelevant. Check out that Pringles advert with Anelka (the face of the French World Cup?) , it means nothing and the players do whatever they are told to by their agents. I'm just passing an opinion on why we screwed up on the pitch. As I said - a string of posts. Your stuff about Rooney and how it's not his fault - sorry, don't work for me. At all. I'd kind of agree with a lot of what was said. It certainly wasn't Rooney's fault we went out of the World Cup. Obviously it was his job to score goals. The way we set up from the start with Heskey was a failed attempt at getting the best from Rooney and therefore him scoring. But if you're going to put that much pressure on someone you've got to back him up with service, which just wasn't any where near god enough. Pretty much none existent for the full 4 hours of football in fact. You could have put anyone else up there and they'd have been as unproductive.
  3. I agree with Niel. I can't agree that he can't handle pressure, I think he's usually better for it. It just didn't happen for him. Can't really drop him though, If we'd started Defoe in his place and he didn't score we'd all be saying we shouldn't have dropped Rooney.
  4. No, but I don't need any more evidence to know that his guy is a cunt of the highest order
  5. He is.............just a rubbish one. And remarkably slow. I was saying to my mate at the start if we could really play against Germany without a proper DM, seeing as our MF has no engine either. This is why I was pushing for Carrick to start. I don't know how fit he was etc. But at least he can read a game defensively. He's not super quick but he's clever enough for that to not be a factor. Plus he has an inch perfect pass on him. Would have liked to see it. Wouldn't have cost us much trying in retrospect
  6. It was a mistake though. OK it was a horrendous way to leave, but he was leaving Ashley and the cronies like he did, not us. Which was stupid because of course he left us the same way. What I mean is I don't think there was any malice in it, the way we (the fans) were treated by him when he left was collateral. I stand by the fact he loved the fans and the club and was very decent guy. I forgive him
  7. Celeb lifestyle, wags, wages, cars, elevated Ego's, delusions of grandeur, Rolex's, adverts, MTV Cribs, Sky Sports, ITV, The Sun, false sense of self importance. Biggest problem has been highlighted in another thread. Our 'best players' play in games where there is barely competition week in week out, and if there is its brought down to a boring physical game. We struggle to play 'football' like a lot of the other national sides
  8. Aye, Ronaldo is wrong, Woodgate would have been head and shoulders better if he'd had no injuries. Terry has been over-hyped for a long time, but he probably still is 2nd choice England CB behind Ferdinand. This highlights how the PL deludes our country if Terry and Ferdinand are our best 2 CBs.
  9. I'm sorry I seem to be the only one who's seen this all of the WC. But Germany, and their players, are nowt special, canny average in fact, and just because they have beaten a piss poor england side 4-1 it doesn't mean they are now 4 times better than our players.
  10. Any day of the week mate. Howay, don't believe the hype. England were well beaten (not tat Germany had to do much to beat us) but that doesn't mean all of their players are better than ours. Gerrard is better than them both. Fact
  11. Not Mertesacker,he's shite.Friedrich maybe. Podolski definitely Thomas Muller. He bossed the match today. Which English players would get in the German side? Ashley Cole and............ nope, that's it. Rooney, Gerrard, all our CB's as Mertesacker is proper drippy gash
  12. very clever Well done to everyone who has the stomach to be in here and talk about that dross earlier today. I think I may just wash my hands of it. Hopefully there will be a big clear out, but then you think about who could replace them...and the list is small.
  13. Its the PL thats made our national team so poor unfortunately.
  14. I'd rather sack the Chelsea 'rudeboi's' from the national team. May have a bit of team cohesion then.
  15. Clap, then Boo. Like we would any other ex Newcastle player. The service he gave us was more than commendable. Like Ronaldo pointed out with the positions we finished when he was here, we weren't great. But unlike Ronaldo I rate him highly and he was definitely in the top 3 prem keepers for a good 3 seasons IMO, so he more than had he right to try and engineer a move away earlier than he did. I understand his reaction after the Liverpool game. If I wasn't blood bound I's have done the same! Give your all 6 days a week sacificing your family and bust your arse carrying a team (its defence at least) and everyone around just seems to have given up. Fuck it. Upsetting circumstances in him leaving, but I can understand his need to get out, I'm sure he's sorry about the situation, he always seemed like a grounded decent guy who really cared about he club and the city.
  16. Sir John Hall has told Keegan to go and buy a striker and money is 'no object'
  17. Only time I've cried because of football. Twice for me. When we sold Cole and got knocked out of FA cup on Penalties by Chelsea....96/97?
