  1. What's the point in bringing Martins into this. Baffling http://www.otf2.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
  2. I thought we already concluded that... and you still laughed at it. No idea why you posted that http://www.otf2.com/forums/images/smilies/sorry.gif

    RIP sale thread.

Certain we can fetch solid fees for Bassong, Martins, Jonas, Coloccini... So £10m does seem a very low and poor estimate. Of course, we are all dealing in estimates and have no idea.
  4. Which is why his physical capacity has been greatly reduced and concequently why he isn't the player he once was. Although he has enough mental and technical abiltiy to alter his game - if he stays injury free from now on. So what we can conclude with here is that Owen's carer has been ravaged by injuries and you're a complete tool for finding it hilarious.
  5. Thanks for backing my point up. So yeah, injuries are 'fucking hilarious'?
  6. 'relatively injury free' - oh so he's still had a few injuries then. Then there is the size of his initial injury/sheer volume of injuries in the past and the impact all this has had on his body. So yeah, injuries.
  7. Of course. Still going for first steam football in your hypothetical transfers.
  8. Rather a sad attitude. It's the same circumstances which meant he missed so many games for us you know. http://www.otf2.com/forums/images/smilies/sorry.gif
  9. Seems like we're getting rid and not as you say him pissing off. call me cynical but i'm sure you can find quotes from ronaldo saying how much he wants to stop at man utd. call me cynical but if he says he wants away he'll lose a fair chunk of signing on fee. call me cynical but he didn't play last season as if he wanted to stay. It's the only quotes we have to go on. There's nothing wrong with being wary of players comments in the media tbh

  11. Free world - Oba can do what he wants. Would also like to point this out: Seems like we're getting rid and not as you say him pissing off.

Somebody explain the somewhat extravagant thread title.
  13. Yep - League Champions, Champions League football.
  14. I remember Lua Lua's Ronaldinho speech. Maybe he wasn't made the centre of attention in Greece? Would have expected him to be at Barcelona by now.
  15. The squad is in desperate need of investment in some very key areas - hell the squad is so fucked up it needs a complete overhaul. Essential that we make signings, so I'd imagine a transfer kitty would be expected.

    RIP sale thread.

Bassong is trying to sell himself Definitely leaving this summer.
  17. Genuinely not convinced by the 'whoever pays the most' arguement. He's looking for a team that can offer him first choice football, with a platform to prove his ability, consistency and physical conditions. Also, due to his injury problems he's not going to be have the strongest negotiations - which as in the Hull article, a pay as you play contract seems likely. Going to be interesting to see who he signs for in the end - especially now a team have come out with public interest.
  18. No idea where this argument is going tbh - completely pointless. Owen is moving clubs - it's just about who he signs for now. Your point about him being better off with us doesn't count as he isn't going to be with us next season.
  19. In terms of league performance Scotland - as he scored more goals in the league he was playing in. It's not just about that though - that's what you've got to understand. It's the quality of football that is being played, the ability of the player, his consistency, current physical condition... Scotland (in the highest probability) would not perform to the same level as Michael Owen in the EPL or international football - that has to be assumed. So I see little substance in your point of comparing players from different leagues - where one has had a full season and the other an injury ravaged season.
  20. But yes, if he stayed (which he isn't) and scored 20 goals in a full season he would have shown consistency. However, the main point to make in this situations is that he isn't staying - hence the prospect of Owen of scoring 20+ goals for us next season is a mute point.
  21. It's all opinion as to what clarifies as performing in comparing two leagues. But if anything, the premiership is at a far higher standard to the championship - thus harder to score/maintain a starting 11 place. Owen isn't stupid - he'll want to get an EPL club and perform in one of the top leagues in European football.
  22. 28 goals isn't bad considering a lot of reasons. Calling him a 'think stupid cunt' is 'lowbrow' - if you're implying that his movement and decision making on the pitch isn't up to scratch then fair enough.
  23. Harder to score 8 goals for Hull than 20+ for us in the Championship in theory. I'd suggest that performing in Premiership standard of football is much more likely to get him a WC spot. Besides, we know he's not staying so he needs a new club.
