  1. They did get Chris Martin to take it. Probably had a rush of blood to the head.
  2. Bet his leg feels all Crunchie now.
  3. Serious? Be amazed if we don't go up automatically, just a matter of which of the two of us wins it. Howay... It's genuinely difficult to tell sometimes.

Not very realistic though, because he's telling the truth.
  5. He's on a reported £30k a week plus bonuses man He'd not be on anywhere near that at any of the other clubs. Jenkinson is apparently on £40k at Arsenal. Any lad going for over £10m should expect good money You're right to an extent, but again, you've given Arsenal as an example. They have a huge wage bill and are known for paying their youngsters that come through their academy extremely well. The really big clubs pay insane wages. The smaller clubs pay extremely good wages, but I am still not convinced that many Premier League clubs would have been prepared to pay Burke 30Kpw plus bonuses etc. I'm just not. It's pissing in the wind a bit because we don't have proper numbers, but here's a fairly good guess: http://www.totalsportek.com/money/manchester-united-player-salaries/ They have Lingard at 25Kpw and Rashford at 20Kpw. That sounds plausible. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3891884/Jesse-Lingard-set-sign-new-four-year-deal-Manchester-United-line-new-Adidas-contract.html Widely reported that Lingard has doubled wages to £60k Quite - insane money. The top four money teams have been paying 20-30Kpw to the better youngsters for a while. Us and the teams originally after Burke just can't/won't pay that much. Supposedly Alli started with Spurs on just over 10Kpw: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-hotspur-midfielder-dele-alli-likely-to-double-wages-with-new-deal-a6740661.html

  7. He's on a reported £30k a week plus bonuses man He'd not be on anywhere near that at any of the other clubs. So you don't think any of the Pl clubs mentioned would pay him £30,000 a week? Seriously? Look at the money being payed these days. £30,000 is nothing. I think that we were actually at the front of the queue: http://www.squawka.com/news/oliver-burke-i-was-going-to-visit-tottenham-before-bundesliga-move/789732 I can pretty much guarantee - as far as is possible - that there is no way we would have been paying him anywhere near 30Kpw. Is that really what he's getting? There are a few reasons that Chelsea and Man City mop up most of the best young talent, and paying s***-tons of cash is number 1. Despite the ludicrous wages earned at the top two or three clubs, kids at Spurs and so, presumably, at Palace/Boro/West Brom will not be earning anything like that amount. We genuinely cannot afford it. Edit: I'm not sure that QPR of that time are the best yardstick either .
  8. Works as a general statement tbh.
  9. Also, the tunnel window is one-way . I'd be tempted if I had, y'know, infinite money.
  10. That kid Emmanuel at RB has been the best of a bad bunch for Ipswich.
  11. Thought Ipswich would get stronger as the game went on, but if anything it's been the other way round.
  12. *Phew* At least we'll get to see Man U after all.
  13. They've got a canny following. I watched them play Darlington about 10 years ago at the Reynolds Arena and they must have brought near enough 2,000 fans with them. They took 4K to Ipswich in the first game, think their average home attendance is only about 3K. They should have a fairly sizeable 'catchment area' as they're not surrounded by bigger teams - what is the nearest "big club"? Forest? It's such a huge county too. Aye Forest closest I think, they'll be one of those towns where everyone supports Man U and Liverpool etc. Would Scunthorpe and Grimsby not be as close? Ok they arn't as big as Forest, but both arguably bigger than Lincoln. They're all about the same distance - Boston too IIRC. I have an ex from Grantham, which was mainly Forest fans, some Lincoln, and a lot of glory-hunters.
  14. He's playing well for a guy who wouldn't look out of place at a Sunday league game with a can of Calsberg open at 11am That's clearly a standard-issue beer gut .
  15. Did everything right then totally fucked up the header. Good game this.
  16. The referee for the Lincoln game looks like he's still at school. Man I feel old.
  17. Rhead - never heard of him . I presumed he was an ex-good player who's put on some weight heading towards retirement. Proper non-league stalwart, it seems.
  18. I wasn't concentrating - who's the big lunk up front for Lincoln?
  19. Lincoln v Ipswich the live game here.
  20. Pretty damn good attacking - they could play De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Aguero and Sane against us. Weirdly, only Sane was bought in the Summer. They spent 169M on nine players and only recouped 4M. I know Pep hasn't been there that long, but f***ing hell, he should be able to do more with that little lot. Their net transfer spend in the last five years is over 400M, which is insane. It's criminal that after all that they might not even get a top four finish this year. That attack is toothless though, they are playing like Arsenal of 5-6 years ago. Well I hope so. Their fans seem absolutely terrified, although they could have easily been two or three up early on against Everton before falling apart. First goal will be very important. Bookies have Man City as favourites, which seems a bit more realistic.
