  1. Hee hee. Not too fussed about who won that, so Wenger having an eppy is gravy.
  2. I'd hate to be Rooney in this team, he has to kill himself every game. Being asked to do far too much.
  3. What on earth was he thinking? Brilliant game to watch, this.
  4. More of a penalty than Eduardo. Keeper clearly fouled him, but Rooney was on his way down.
  5. Extended because Birmingham made a massive meal of a substitution. Hee hee.
  6. All that matters is how the new team does, and it looks like a decent team to me. More or less decent than when they had Lescott? Because progress is all that matters as far as Im concerned, regardless of whether a team looks decent or not. Understood, but now they've been able to buy Heitinga and...er....the Russian guy with that money. It looks like a better team all round to me, but the odds of it ever getting on the pitch (Jagielka, Arteta and Yak?) are low.

  8. Birmingham parking the bus. Spurs 70.5% possession.

Some "Sunista" discussion in the attached thread that has to be read to be believed: http://www.independentmillwall.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=93255&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
  10. Unlikely now O'Hara is on loan to Portsmouth, Spurs will need to buy another LW before they'll let Bale go.
  11. [glow=red,2,300][/glow] Probably because of this:- Uefa general secretary David Taylor = ex Chief Executive of the SFA. Until Rooney, Gerard, Owen or Ronaldo is accused of this too whenever they do their next dives then this has been done for show and nothing else. I just don't believe it would have happened to Rooney or Gerrard had they been playing precious Celtic. It's meaningless tbh and won't change a thing. The action itself isn't meaningless though, it shows how cavalier UEFA can be with impunity. I'd be impressed if the next one was a Real or Inter player, or someone obscure from that Romanian team (Debreceni?) - at least that would mean they are serious.
  12. Yeah, but in a Scottish League match. It was the SFA that dealt it out.
  13. No, it's because he plays his reserves. No, it's because his squad is too thin. He doesn't buy enough players, and their playing style is predictable.
  14. I cannot believe that no other player in that round of Champions League qualifiers dived. The decision is PR, but you could argue the other way round - that UEFA are making a stand because the team is English. Either way, it's pathetic. Nice in principle, but unless you scrutinize every game it's going to be innately biased.
  15. See Hull, with Geovanni. Am gutted they got Altidore though, he will do well this year.
  16. Delph, sure, but Beye? Dunne? My wife is Villa so I'll admit I've got a bee in my bonnet here, but every time she talks about their young, English side I work out the average age. In the last game: Villa - 26.5 (6 English), Man City - 26.5 (5 English), Newcastle - 23.4 (6 English), Spurs - 24.5 (5 English). Bit sad, but it's become a cliche to say they're young and English.
  17. That's exactly it, but it works for them when they play 4-5-1. I can't believe that he doesn't play 4-5-1 in every game. They could easily have lost if Liverpool had scored in that mad goalmouth scramble, but they found their feet and started playing the same way that was so successful last year. Keep it tight, give the ball to Young at every opportunity and try to win free-kicks and corners. If they score, there's more pressure on the oppo, they come forward which allows Villa to pick them off on the break. The main problem with the tactic is that it is predictable, and works best away from home. If it isn't working he doesn't have a clue.
  18. Bloody hell. Was looking down when they announced Danny Wallace, saw the blonde woman in the wheelchair and thought "God, his illness has had a serious effect."
  19. Bloody Arsenal. Every bloody time. Lucky, lucky bastards.
  20. Shit, we're a minute or so behind you. Going to have to leave...
  21. Really want to screw Liverpool and Arsenal up.
  22. Sorry, I stopped listening, then heard blue & red groups, TV and computer draw. Eh?
  23. Yeah, if you think cheating is OK. Boruc made it easy for him, but he still cheated. F**k him. EVERYONE cheats in football. Maybe not such obvious dives, but absolutely everyone cheats. Whether its shirt pulling, intentional fouls or completely over-exaggerating a challenge in order to win a free kick / penalty. Everyone. I glide serenely through games with a shimmering halo.
  24. Butragueno looks even more like a Bond villain.
