Naah. He’s been asked to cover an unbelievable amount of ground. Made some mistakes with the ball and got sucked in at times but also done some Ok stuff. Chilwell needs putting out of his misery here though. This has been a great game for Livramento.

Been an interesting half. Both teams up for it. England are about three players short of being the best in the world, but those three are such a big step down. I feel like everyone’s kinda done what we expected. Maybe Watkins’ problem is just that he’s such a completely different player to Kane that the team needs to completely change how they play. Pickford’s distribution has been terrific, Rice has done well, Bellingham has settled into his role as the game has gone on. Gordon has been terrific. Maguire has been Maguire and we just can’t keep doing this. Chilwell’s not been good enough and LB is starting to look like a real problem. It’s hard not to sympathise with Southgate to some extent - it’s not totally surprising that he feels the need to over-protect his back line.

Yet again, the most frustrating refs are the ones where you can predict exactly how they will be shit before they do it. And can we please fuck Maguire off. We all know about the regular egregious fuck-ups, but he’s consistently quietly making little mistakes too - poor anticipation, sloppy passing and movement etc.
