  1. Hang on, was that in response to me? I'm a bit confused.
  2. For me it was and always will be centre-mid. Ball can come at you from anywhere, you've got to be able to use both feet well to be effective, you need to be great on the ball and off it, you need incredible stamina. I played every position except anywhere on the right to a reasonable level. CM is the only one I really struggled with.
  3. Was gonna say - did Forest start as evens?
  4. Won’t that partly be because of the new rules concerning injury time etc?
  5. I don’t think there’s a sick bag in the world big enough for the aftermath of that.
  6. Arteta’s taken that directly from Pep. It’s so transparent, and all that lip service at the beginning of the season meant nowt. Refs have got to get on top of this - and fuck blue cards, they have the tools right now.
  7. I’d have to check, but I’m sure he’s come up with some nonsense about us before. Maybe not as obviously out of line. It’s usually just run-of-the-mill pro-Man U or pro-Ferguson stuff. It’s fascinating to see the contrast with others. Ian Wright is one of my favourites for being really enthusiastic like a fan but always fair and honest. Lineker usually nails it too. You don’t have to be entirely unbiased, but you don’t have to be snide.
  8. It’s how he rolls. There was an early-season on-pitch post-game interview with Neville, Carragher and Ange where Carragher and Ange were chatting normally and Neville just looked like a little scrote wanting to be with the big boys. There’s a line to walk as a commentator between objective and subjective and he gets it wrong more often than not.
  9. I mean, they’re all cunts, so I wasn’t really all that fussed what happened but if they hang on this will be funny at least. I’m not going to listen to any of the aftermath though.
  10. He is, but that shot going in was a bit of a joke. Edit: as was that corner.
  11. The answer is always Arsenal.
  12. The stats from the Middlesbrough Plymouth game are bonkers. Just started the second half. Boro have 63% possession and 5 (off target) shots. Plymouth have had 17 shots with 9 on target.
  13. Gentlemen, if I may make a polite request. I would like you to: 1. Get into them. 2. Fuck them up. 3. Return to 1.
  14. I’m definitely at the ABA stage now. We need another year or two to mount a sustained challenge, or no injuries. If we get CL this year I’ll be ecstatic.
  15. Players should be allowed to just go straight through him when he pulls his bullshit on the touchline.
  16. Endo seems to have inherited Fabinho’s magic yellow card force field too. He’s left it at the one-yellow-card-allowed setting though.
  17. Is it? Genuine question. Is it more green-washing in a particular way, or is it just that football is the biggest sport?
  18. I think this plays a role too though. The Arnesen stuff certainly highlighted Levy’s willingness to fight, later shown in other off-field areas such as West Ham trying to get a stadium for peanuts. I did find this contemporary article interesting: https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2005/jun/25/newsstory.sport1 A possible 3-point penalty . Pathetic.
  19. It’s partly a function of just coming back to the UK, but I feel like I’ve watched more “lower league” football than ever. There’s just so much of it on the box.
  20. Loving this season, although the last couple of weeks have been ropey. They’re a properly good footballing side, which is how is should be. I wore my Dad’s Rovers shirt to the gym on Thursday. They’ll be dancing in the streets of Raith.
  21. I feel like I’ve heard this a fair bit, and although I’ve not really been paying attention it didn’t make sense. Have the Hall and Livramento signings been a failure? I presumed they were brought in as young players to develop as part of the squad going forward, and I really rate Livramento.
  22. you’ve been watching football for hundreds of years, you know European refs are at best as bad as ours.
  23. It really doesn’t. It’s shit everywhere, just a bit more demonstrative on the continent. In other news, really enjoying the Europa League goals show. First time I’ve come across it. Like a more civilised and less amphetamine-fuelled Redzone. And on cue, an absolutely pathetic red card bought by Galatasaray. Quintessential ref evening up the game (now 10v10) and being generous to the home team.
