FWIW I love international football. I love the whole country coming together. I love players playing for their country rather than who pays them the most. I love different countries’ characteristics - both fans and players. I support England because I’m English. It just wouldn’t occur to me not to. I do sometimes feel a bit simple saying that.

Strongly disagree, it really helps atmosphere and - frankly - it’s fairer. Speaking as an away fan, being up in the clouds at Newcastle sucks. And in fact it’s against the rules, but Newcastle get an exemption afforded to nobody else because the local authority couldn’t find a way to make it work that didn’t compromise spectator safety. Man U initially had the same exemption temporarily but fixed the issue.

You buy English to give you flexibility elsewhere. Most of your older players are HG and will be replaced over the next year or two (Trippier, Burn, Pope, Wilson etc). I think it’s a great plan tbh.
