  1. Yes ? Perspective is needed. Think Wretched sums it up pretty well. Both sides played very poorly for a good 50 mins, neither stringed beyond 4 passes together very often atall.
  2. This is ignoring the fact Wolves had just beaten tottenham also btw. If they can do one over on tottenham at this point, claiming theyd have no chance against a massively weakened Man U is just silly. Ofcourse they had a chance to get a point atleast out of it.
  3. Youd have said the same about the game Burnley won 1-0 against them early in the season. It is never a good attitude to give up on things, no matter how unlikely it seems. Most of the time it wont go your way, sometimes it will. You wont get those sometimes unless you try & teams that dont bother dont deserve to get the chance in the first place. I have no respect for that myself, thats what it boils down to.
  4. Thats what i disagree with. You cannot say they wouldnt test them atall, Man U have no central defenders. Fulham put 3 past them with no response, you think you can say with any reasonable conviction that theres no chance Wolves could have sneaked a goal & put a game on ? I dont think so atall. As i said before, Burnley had crap results against Chelsea & Liverpool also. Still got a point against Arsenal midweek. We all have our views, i just hate defeatist attitudes. I dont see it as "logical", but i understand why some think it makes sense. I understand that some see it as a game more UNLIKELY to win. But no chance do i think that means you dont give it a go anyway. Couldnt disagree with that more.
  5. First 50 mins was definately woeful, hard to disagree with that. Long ball football, which we kept losing. 2nd half, with the ball being played around more we were much better.
  6. Knowing Burnley were going to play Arsenal a day after theyd played themselves, is even more of a reason not to rest your team. Theyd just beaten tottenham, they had a weakened Man U (who it turns out lost twice around this fixture) to play next and gave up ahead of time. Unless you believe there to be a reasonable reason why they wouldnt have likely won this match against burnley also without resting players, there aint much of an argument. It is far more likely that they could have won this game, whilst still testing Man U with a first team. They didnt even try, its a pathetic way to play & Mccarthys a joke
  7. As i say, portsmouth beat them after a run of 3 losses previously. That was another relegation scrap. If you're resting your whole team to play the worse sides in the league, somethings massively wrong. Theres no excuses for it atall.

    Danny Guthrie

Think its because he wants one defensive minded centre mid & one attack minded. Having said that even with Nolan out, he played Butt next to smith which is two defensive mids. Was an away game though, so probably just being overly cautious in general.
  9. Posted it in wrong thread: Burnley had lost 7 out of 8 away games so far this season, including to portsmouth at the bottom. If mccarthy thinks he needs to rest all of his team to play them, he may aswell ask for relegation now. Rubbish win, even if he gets it.
  10. Strange to say as they both scored, but i think lesson learned is dont play Ameobi & Harewood together. Atleast dont play long balls to them if you do, we lost the ball doing that for a good 50 mins of the game. Both seem more useful with Loven next to them, maybe even Carroll. Was much better when we knocked it around 2nd half, but still our only threat with them both was on crosses. Carroll offers danger from long balls & Loven is good with through balls. So id prefer to have those options to.
  11. As soon as he came on he did an overhead kick in the middle of the pitch to put it out for no reason. A few mins afterwards from a corner he crossed it out of play towards the corner flag. Just have a look back in this thread man, you werent watching if you missed his mistakes. He got better as the game improved yes, boro were already down by that point. We looked better when he came on and i didnt see him 'give the ball away'. I dont classify a defending overhead kick as that. Dont remember the cross. Thats one example then. The fact that you think i should be looking in this thread instead of watching the game speaks volumes. I said you should check back in the thread to see reactions to the moments im talking about. Not while its happening. A defending overhead kick in the middle of the pitch is fine yes, problem is he was surrounded by no one. We looked better because we scored a 2nd not long after he'd come on & Boro went massively off the pace. I dont randomly dislike players anyway, ive backed Butt previously on his better games. I agree after the first 7 mins on the pitch, he didnt do much wrong apart from the ball passed to Jonas as others are mentioning. Put across a nice volley to Jonas also & played some nice passes sideways. Its when he tries to knock it fowards or we're under pressure defensively where it all goes wrong. Its fine to say he had a decent game, but you're going way to far the other way by claiming he barely put a foot wrong. That is all

  14. Just had a look on their forum, many of them are blaming him for where they are now
  15. All over, 10 clear. Not the best performance, but a result is a result. Easier than i expected, good win
  16. Colo deserved that, Enriques been alright not his best game though.
  17. He's been excellent since he came on. Hes been OK, nowhere near excellent Hasnt put a foot wrong. Were you not watching his first 5 mins on the pitch ? Hes made up for the bad start a little, not been involved much though. Boro went off it after our 2nd.

  19. Their keeper is so dodgy, shouldve just been taking long shots all day
