  1. I reckon we will do something in January. Not saying he'll spend millions, but in this situation it also benefits him massively now for us to get promoted. It'll obviously really be determined by where we are in the table at that time, if we're in the clear ofcourse he wont. Outside of that i expect he will, he's seen what happens with lack of investment last season & Hughton also can use that against him. I dont see him risking us falling into the playoffs & doing nothing about it. At the very least he'll hire a random manager 12 games from the end of the season to replace Hughton if it isnt going to plan. He's shown he tends to deploy those kind of desperate tactics.
  2. Carroll was very poor against QPR and Ipswich alongside Ranger. Apart for the assist for Nolans 2nd that put us clear against Ipswich you mean. No one did brilliantly against QPR. And you cannot say with any real belief that lovenkrands would have changed that atall. The results back up Ranger & Carroll. Experimenting with much else when we're winning games with those two up front is pretty idiotic.

I dont mind Hughton, think he gets more stick than he deserves because of the fact that he's clearly not experienced in the role. But he should have been made manager only till the end of this season at best, i dont want him being manager in the premiership.
  4. Ranger brings out the best in Carroll, be moronic not to start them both after their last few games playing together.

If the clubs sold he'll only be dumped if he doesnt want to stay as coach, they wouldnt sack him
  6. Jayson

    RIP sale thread.

He wants 100m still, nothings changed

    RIP sale thread.

Our best chance of selling the club will be when this season ends, expecting much else is a complete waste of time.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Because the quality of teammates would have nothing to do with anything obviously.

Well you cant lavish much praise on them when they do badly, so you have to go the other way. He does both, it comes across a bit laughably with doncaster i agree. The issue though isnt him saying silly things its whether he actually thinks that to the extent that it comes across. I doubt it, the guys not a moron even if he doesnt always come out with the best lines.
  10. Guthrie clearly could be prem quality, hes a decent player. Colo is the main one out of those lot who was generally crap last season when he played. Hopefully he'll get some confidence this season & do better if we get up again.

Except i wasnt saying that anywhere

    Chris Hughton

Yes but its debatable isnt it. We didnt have better players than them for the last few games, which shows how easily they can be woeful once again even in this league. That suggests that he had previously been getting some better football out of them & that it wasnt simply the minimum of what they were capable of. They're clearly capable of far worse. Which means he is atleast getting a certain decent level of performance out of them.

Many would think hes doing that right now. He has us above the two other relegated sides who both had/have full time managers. He's hardly doing much damage to any potential career as a manager.

I read that and couldn't believe he'd said it. The idea is to keep the players positive and motivated. Its his job to make up random bs specifically so they keep self belief. If he came out constantly with.....ok you just got outplayed by scunthorpe..........ok forest just dominated you sacks of s***............ok..you should have lost to doncaster there ive no idea htf u lot are top of the league. You think that great amount of honest realism is going to turn them into match winners suddenly? I cant really remember any managers properly slating their players performances and that producing a miraculous turn of form. Normally it becomes a circle of consistant slating & consistantly crap performances. See Roy Keane.

It took four and a half games for him to say that to them? Tactical genius tbh. I mean we only saw it all the way back against QPR Not sure how that proves thats the first time he said it really

    Chris Hughton

Nolans interview on the official site has him saying Hughton told them to get the ball down and impose their game more, so not sure what tactics you can argue with. I dont think much blame can be put at Hughton really, hes trying different things & has been willing to change. Our results havent really been his fault imo. More a combination of bad luck and players underperforming, guthrie was shocking a few games ago after missing the pen & has brightened up again now for instance.
  17. Havent seen the miss but nicely taken finish. He's got a good shot on him & we know he can head...he just has to work on his movement & composure. He has the ability to score more than he is, think he'll improve.
  18. Yep definately grabbed his neck, no arguments with that decision. Moronic stuff.
  19. One of the great performances of the season ?
  20. Jayson

    Nile Ranger

Only when we're playing players who cant deal with them, like lovenkrands. Anyway im not disagreeing that itd be better if we were passing it instead, i just dont think its realistic to think we can just switch to that in an instant by playing a different foward up front. In the mean time, its better to be efficient at what we're doing which means starting Carroll/Ranger upfront.

    Nile Ranger

We've been playing longball all season & conceded the least in the league. Only stopped scoring when we broke up our usual lineup, the one that you dont want to play If we're gonna pass it the players have to show more for the ball, the defenders have to be confident enough to not boot it long under pressure & we have to have better movement in midfield in general. Most of that comes with confidence that we clearly dont have seeing as we havent been playing that way. Apart from that you're relying on Smith a defensive midfielder & Nolan a guy who is slower and stays further fowards to be making lots of space for eachother. Unless you drop one of them and put Guthrie in the middle. Its just not worth starting with all the nonsense that involves.

    Nile Ranger

Its not as simple as saying "stop playing long ball football" & then we turn into brazil though.
