Atleast they sound like theyre passing it a bit better now. The long balls is what was doing us in.
-
If we actually bothered to put another upfront & pass the ball along the floor a bit we should piss this game easily still. 4-5-1 has looked crap from the start, Blackpool clearly learnt from the Cardiff game and we didnt.
-
If we start 2nd half with 1 man upfront, Hughtons an idiot basically.
-
Hopefully that ends the "theyll never score" trend of thinking, even when we're playing disasterously.

Atleast theyve something to be wound up about now. Hopefully thatll spur them on a bit.

11 shots to blackpool, 8 on target 0 shots to newcastle

Because it makes to much sense to only play long balls when you've another striker upfront to win the flick ons. Instead, pack the midfield full of players & then bypass them with overhit passes from defence. Its all well thought out obviously.
-
Ranger / Carroll upfront would seem obviously to be a better idea. Doubt Rangers that tired in general either, not like hes not used to playing games. When hes left upfront to get long balls for 90 mins, sure he'll look knackered during the game then. Anyone would.

They are the home team and we are one of the top teams in the div, they are not going to lay down and take it. Did you expect every team to take it up the ass from us? Lets see if they are good enough over 90 minutes. f***ing hell. I dont expect them to have much choice in the matter. We're giving the ball away instantly again, we should be in control with that midfield regardless. 70% possession to blackpool at any point is embarassing.
-
Blackpool near 70% possession so far.
-
Sounds like this 4-5-1 is going well then.
-
Doesnt sound like we're getting much possession, hopefully not carrying on from where we left off in the Cardiff game.
-
Shame about Butt, thats about it.
-
I'm convinced there is contact. Not enough to make him fall though. Told you all Ive looked at it again, still dont see any. Cant see any knee catching his leg or anything, no idea what theyve looked at.

No we won't, if the game had gone on another hour we still wouldn't have conceeded, Cardiff were that poor. They missed a few chances in the game, doesnt mean they'd have kept missing. Our defendings been better recently, but luck has played a part in not conceding in 5 games. Several players have skied decent chances against us now that theyd score on another day. Perhaps being the big team is helping us in that way, puts more pressure on those players when they actually get an opportunity. Still at some point, someone will put one of those away.
-
We cant assume though that the oppositions always going to miss their chances. The best form of defence is to keep the ball in the first place, we have the ability to do that easily. Instead we risked not getting 3 points several times needessly, when it was apparent from the start we could have bossed the game. It turned out well, but no point pretending it was all perfect. Having said that, i reckon that'll be our worse performance in a while.

If Carroll couldnt even make Sub today he wont be starting in 3 days. Probably be Ranger with Nolan behind uhgain. Blackpool are just coming off the back of their first loss like Cardiff were, so perfect time to play these teams really.

Took me a second to workout what i was seeing there

One of our better players today, doing pretty well. Pleased we got him.

He was class against Reading before the Injury. He was dropping inside in that game though.
