Owen cant possibly be match fit even if he was he needs someone who can cross half decently & we didnt play r taylor whos clearly our best crosser makes no sense. Lovens been doing well.
-
colocinni is crap, has been all season
-
we played 10 mill for that......
-
taylor used to be a striker didnt he our only player outside of the fowards who scores goals aint he.... scored a few this season for us has s taylor
-
YES S TAYLOR YOU LEGEND THE ONLY REAL GEORDIE save us lad
-
why the hell would we not be playing our best crosser of the ball what the f.ck is wrong with these morons how could it possibly be more complicated than playing the team that did well v man u a f.cking child would do better
-
why the hell his butt playing why whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
-
i have no understanding of why this lot are so desperate to play butt, what in the fck
-
why not play lovenkrands Why not play s taylor and r taylor in midfield why not start with the fcking team that did well against man united this is completely ridiculous

Reckon we'll win, we have a habit of pulling it out of the bag in some manner usually. Even if we dont.....there are still some key games to go after this match. Obviously a bad result here makes getting better results in the future less likely, but with more players back and fit....Martins fully fit, Owen, Guthrie, beye etc... We can still pull out some unexpected wins before this season ends.

This!! Must be made captain next season. Agree, far far better than Owen. Has been said numerous times in interviews & shown in celebrations that hes the one who brings the players together.
-
Reports going around that Real Madrid are after him.

Read that we were interested in that lad who plays for Derby Kris Commons. Exactly the kind of player we should be going for imo, so we probably wont. We've all known we need a creative midfielder now, but we clearly also need one who also has a good strike on him. Or even a player who can actually head the ball half decently so that we might score from set pieces (Who is even half likely to be scoring from Taylors set pieces?). Bassong has a good head on him, if our training is sorted properly he could probably get in on some.

Seems to be a clear difference for me with our recent signings compared to the type of players we used to sign Jenas, Dyer, Speed, Robert, Solano, even Viana & Bowyer All capable of scoring goals...that was the kind of player we used to look for. We now have the likes of Butt (Used to get some headers...shame thats gone) , Cacapa, Guthrie, Nolan (Hopefully will start getting some again), R taylor, Gutierrez (Rate him, but doesnt have an eye for goal) Barton (Same). So if just 1 foward is out...we generally dont perform because our midfield wont get anything & so we lose games. Sad that now we're happy with signing a player who can simply cross the ball half decently in Rtaylor. Robson set up an attacking side, everyone in our side could score. Same with Keegan. Even Bramble, Obrien, Bernard... had more chance of scoring than the likes of Colocinni, enrique & bassong atm. Its actually only taylor who gets the odd goal outside of the fowards.

Players like Nolan & Ryan taylor previously wouldnt have been seen to be good enough to play for Newcastle. Clearly our standards have dropped

What a load of bollocks. how In what way can we not compete with Sunderland? We are having a good season, 2nd in the academy league and 2nd in the reserve league, both us and the mackems got to the quarters in the youth cup and came up against 2 of the best teams in the country, we were beaten 4-2 away at man city, thet were stuffed 4-0 or 4-1 at home to arsenal. There wasn't much between the sides when the reserves won 2-1 away at Sunderland with a very young side. Just as there was nothing between the sides when they beat us first game of the season. The academy are away at Sunderland next week so we'll be able to tell. I know exactly how we are doing thanks and have been to a number of Academy games this season including the 4-2 defeat at Man City you talk about, I wanted Jayson to tell me how he thinks we can't compete with them. Did we not actually beat them 3-1 earlier this season at Under 18 level? Their u18's will be 11 points infront if they win their next match, i dont see that as us competing with them.

We have to get someone else in. Im living in the hope that they're only saying Kinnear will stay on so the players feel somewhat stable for the time being. Once its all over, Premiership or Championship....i fail to see how Kinnear is the man to take us fowards. Surely a good amount of better managers would come in for us...given a fresh season in the prem or a chance to manage such a big side in the championship. Kinnear has shown no glimmer of having any idea wtf he is doing. Not long ago he was boasting about how our defence was good because he had the side working on defending the majority of the week....we've gone on to concede the 3rd/4th most amount of goals in the entire prem. His substitutions are mostly crap & ridiculously timed...fair enough he might do better if he had all his players fit, but so would a 5 year old. He isnt up to it.
-
No doubt he'll come back from his injury, score the goals to keep us up and we'll all be kissing his ass again, waiting for the next 3 games he goes without a goal to have a go.
-
Dont understand how everyone can rave on about the quality of our U18's now when they cannot even compete with Sunderlands.

I still havent seen a reason there'd be anything wrong with setting a minimum # of English players for each team. How would this make the league far worse than it currently is.. ? The clubs would just have to spend more time developing English talent than looking overseas for cheaper alternatives...the more chances English players got...the more theyd get to work with the best foreign stars also & the chance to learn from them..the more match experience they'd get etc etc. I dont see how this couldnt possibly be beneficial to ENGLISH football.
