Guthries set up both considering it was his cross we got the pen off. We have missed him in the first team more than we realise i reckon.

That was down largely to Bahengs driving run at the defence. We need a player like that in the first team, that can run through the middle.

Injurys screw us more each season than the lack of new signings. If we stay up there has to be some sort of investigation into it, cant just keep it going. Only reason they dont is because the fans say little about it as if its normal. Its clearly not in our case, if we made a lot of noise they'd do more about it.

You really do have to ask why they are so desperate to keep Kinnear on. In no way has he really been successful atall since being here...let alone being offered a new contract.....let alone possibly replacing Dennis wise just to keep him at the club. Mike Ashleys business plan is to just become mates with people & then offer them jobs isnt it. Thats all there is in his head.

Tbh he could prob beat martins for pace now. I remember in the hull game seeing Martins losing a 1on1 race with a defender to the ball from basically the same starting place. He's still got quick control tho.

only game we dont have a chance in atm is the liverpool game. Even villa away on the last day of the season is winnable, especially if theyre nowhere near catching Arsenal by then as i expect. Every other game from now on, including chelsea is winnable. Guthrie and Beye coming back into the side is suprisingly massive for us.

Last time i heard Bramble talking about Newcastle he was saying our fans were pretty crap. So not so sure he'd come back...maybe he would to prove a point. Amazing to think earlier in the season we held out Aston Villa with a Central defence of Colo and Taylor. Just shows the difference with a half decent midfield.

Hard to tell when playing the likes of Man united and Arsenal. On the basis of the hull game you're right. We'll have to see, so much is on the stoke, portsmouth, tottenham etc games now its unreal. Down to them to step up.

Kinnear scouted for Wenger in the past, that's enough to convince me. As for the signings of Nolan and Taylor, I think they were emergency buys to save us from relegation. It's too much of a risk buying players from abroad when going into a relegation battle. ... kinda my point. Not only were they s*** panic buys, but they were panic buys. We had a month to bring players in; other teams managed it. And if he was such a good scout for Arsenal, why was he out of work for four years? I'd like to know a bit more about this role he ahd for Arsenal tbh. He was supposedly a scout for Wenger during those 4 years. He wasnt out of work, just wasnt a manager.

Think it goes along with the fact that we've been pure crap since december when we lost to Wigan & Heskey got that ridiculous penalty. Since around that time we've had Guthrie, Barton & Martins..also Beye..out. So he hasnt been getting service...now Martins is finally back Owen gets injured. Bit of a joke really. Then you have the fact that as a right footed player hes better on the left upfront so he can cut inside and have a shot (Most of his better goals this season), so instead we've been playing him on the right. With Martins on the left, even though Martins can shoot with both feet...& most agree is better with his left. Once again, its all a bit of a joke as usual.

Not really, a couple of times this season we got plenty of players back and JK didnt know what to do with them, we still went on to lose games. When was the last game we got most of those players back ? Last time i can think of was our wins over Villa & W brom. Even then we didnt play Bassong or Guthrie. The closest we've come to having them all back was our 0-0 with chelsea & even then we had Barton our best attacking midfielder out. After the west brom game our next 8 games went - WWLDDDWW. The game we lost (Fulham) was when we brought Cacapa in, who singlehandedly cocked it up. We werent doing badly. Then we lost Martins, Guthrie, Beye to add onto Barton being out...... Thats when we turned shockingly bad after the liverpool game. Not a coincidence. No point being negative for the sake of it, realistically with our best players back we're not a bad side EVEN under kinnear. We're atleast midtable, defo not relegation contenders.

Unless everyone thinks Martins, Beye, Barton, Guthrie, Jonas, Duff, Bassong will ALL be seriously injured again next season.......why be so negative about the idea of us staying up. Even with a seriously crap manager....the better the players available the better we'll play. We've been destroyed by key injurys this entire season, more so than anything else.

All over. 4-0 Played decently, seemed to easy. Cant tell if that was us being class or Slovakia being useless. Atleast we're playing to our ability more now and not going dodgy against the weaker sides. Look foward to Ukraine game more, hope we keep it up.
