We're not even creating chances. Its floated crosses or long rangers. Get Dejong on, put Perez up top next to him. Get them both to stand on a cb & let Thauvin/Aarons run at the fullbacks.

1 upfront doesnt work for us, we can not support him. Go two upfront & you'll atleast worry their backline a bit. Same every game.

Two upfront isn't the issue really although i'm all for it, i was just wasn't for Mitrovic and Austin as i feel they are too similar and there's no one to help with build up there. It's that there is zero bodies getting forward at all, no one was breaking beyond Cisse tonight and everyone was coming to feet. Danny Mills is a f***ing moron but even he could see that nobody was making runs away from the player in position and everyone was coming towards him. Aye this is what i mean though. Force the issue if they're not making the runs. We can either spend endless games moaning about the attacker not being supported by midfielders, or just put another attacker on. We obviously need a 2nd option if the first doesnt work as planned. I just think you look at other sides aswell and they have more likely goalscorers. Everton have Lukaku, Kone, Barkley, Naismith. Swansea Gomis, Ayew, Sig. Even palace have Zaha, Bolasie, Cabaye, We have a forward & Wijnaldum. None of the others can hit a ball man. Sissoko/Colback are about our 3rd best option in the current formation. They are not at the levels of Barkley, Sigurdsson, Cabaye. Aarons/Dejong/Perez are far better bets.

1 upfront didnt work in pre season, its not worked since. Cisse managed what, a penalty pre season? The striker is isolated, he has been for ages. We need atleast a 2nd option if its not happening, defences deal with us so easily man. We have Thauvin & Sissoko either side, these are not goalscorers. Even if they push on past the striker, its not hugely likely we score. That means we're then reliant on Wijnaldum doing something if our striker is kept quiet as per. We beat them end of last season via a 2nd goal that involved both Riviere & Cisse as our two upfront. I dont get the reluctance, put a man on each central defender or your goalscorers will get outnumbered.

McClaren has had enough time to be judged, it's too early to say he's going to turn out to be s**** or not but he can and will be judged on what he's done so far, whether you like it or not. You can judge him on what's happened so far but it's too early to be accurate. Which was pretty much the point I was making. Of course he needs to shake it up though. You cannot spend that on attacking options and not be able to score. Agree. Today is a poor result, but also the first time we've lost with 11 men on the field. Given the actual context, not scoring in 2 games with 10 men isnt that unusual. Nor is not scoring against a Man Utd side who have had the best defensive record for a while now since Van Gaal came in. Hopefully Mitrovic can sort himself out & id like to see Aarons given more of a chance. Lots of time to go, lets hope we can sort it.

Was at this game. He didnt do much atall, had one bursting run where he ran about 20 yards then was tackled really easily. Compare the performance to Armstrongs so far and its not impressive.

Last game of the season against West Ham? He was lauded for how he played in that game. Off the top of my head this season, first game of the season he was the one who put Sissoko through to cut the ball back for Wijnaldums early miss against Southampton when he hit a defender. Its a bit harsh to judge when in 2 of the other 3 we've been down to 10 men early. The ambition going forwards for the side is obviously going to be restricted to a certain degree then.
