  1. The virtues that make Rooney a more allround footballer are those that are meaning he becomes more and more of a midfielder as he gets older. Ie his vision and playmaking abilities. As a striker, Shearer had everything far and beyond finishing. Intelligence, movement, excellent technique, brings others into play, could drop wide, was a fantastic crosser of the ball, could take set pieces etc. The fact that Shearer has such a good goalscoring record often undermines the fact that he was an excellent footballer too - IMO. Especially pre-injuries.
  2. A discussion taken from another forum. Who was/is the better player and why?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Cisse seemed to get stronger and faster every time he broke his leg, the fucking freak

It has the potential to be very good, Randy, which is what I think most are getting at. Nothing is a certainty in football.
  5. Brainfart moment. I was waiting patiently for you to agree with my posts btw. Knew you'd like them.
  6. I think they've spent a fortune and still not made up enough ground, tbh. Vidal is a cracking signing, mind.
  7. Fuck knows why I typed cold heart of day. Fuck's that supposed to mean

  9. Have already said on here what a nonsensical and petty decision it was to fuck him off for free. I think the unrelenting worship of a half decent player who had one good season at the club purely because he fell out with the board sums up the sorry state our football club finds itself in, to be perfectly honest. People are so desperate to stick it to the board that they'll latch onto a fist pumping scouser who in the cold light of day (and I say this despite enjoying his outspoken character) is driven solely for personal gain and is probably a bit of a cunt.
  10. Little rascal who wanted to stay or nasty Dek & Chubbs? You know what's coming.................... Doesn't stop it being cringeworthy as far as I'm concerned. Like I said it becomes disrespectful to all the excellent servants to the club who got muted/negative/no reception from our support if Joey Barton gets his name sung. That's rubbish - the fans have an affiliation with him and if they feel the need to show it/sing it then that's upto them. The fans at the match bear little resemblance to those on here in my experience. I think his affiliation with our support is overplayed and his hero status to be over the top for what he contributed to the club. Hence why I'd find it cringeworthy. I find that fans at the match and those on here both have a wide range of contrasting opinions. For example, the lad that sits infront of me fucking hates Joey Barton whereas our resident German would probably have his children if medically possible.

  12. Most of the mackem's squad live in Darras.
  13. I just think personally that it will be embarrassing on our fans behalf if his name gets sung. He had 1 good season here, ONE. Before that 3 where he bled the club dry and dragged its reputation through the mud. He's not a club legend, not even close infact. The fact he fell out with the cunts and then pissed off to QPR shouldn't make him some kind of Geordie martyr. He's got half the fanbase in the palm of his hand as far as I'm concerned. Respectful clapping and a cheer if he comes over to our support, nowt more. Support our boys on the pitch, not the ex-player for the other team.
  14. There's been many, many players who have done a lot more for the club who didn't get their names sung upon return.
  15. Clap and a cheer at the most hopefully. Cringeworthy if his name gets sung IMO.
  16. Unfollowed him the moment he signed for QPR.
  17. Great article from a QPR fan ahead of the game: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_news.php?storyid=13966
  18. Bolton 2008. Arsenal 2008. (iirc) One time in the 2nd half in the CCC he switched flanks with Routledge which brought us back from 2-0 down to 2-2. Don't know which team it was against, though. Bristol City away.
  19. The other teams in the KHL are all supporting the idea for each team to send one player to Lokomotiv to rebuild their team to start the season. Cool idea....not sure on how the logistics would work etc. Maybe they'd like Alan Smith? That's fantastic that like. Reminds me of the Zambian side that lost the entire team in a crash and rebuilt the side from scratch and made it all the way to the ACN final the following year - taking the lead in the final vs Nigeria only to lose. Still stands as their best ever finish IIRC.
