Really don't get the deal with Gallagher like.
-
Ziyech was supposed to be out the door, yet here he is starting.
-
Squad number not been announced yet?
-
Not bad for a Championship player
-
Suppose you could do absolutely loads with it really if it was in the club's hands. A mixed use development of a reduced height that also includes club shop, museum etc.

The city council are undoubtedly receptive to what the owners want to do for the city and they've already been in regular contact from the outset - as you would expect. The council however doesn't own the land in question and therefore has no influence on what is done on the land beyond determining planning applications that are brought forward by a private developer. The two previous applications on the site were approved because they were entirely compliant with planning policy for the development of a city centre site. You can't refuse an application because you might want another hypothetical developer, who doesn't own the land, to maybe come forward with something else in the future. Such a decision would not only be easily won on appeal but would probably result in costs being awarded to the applicant. If the development does get built in its currently approved form then it would put a probably insurmountable barrier on developing the Gallowgate because it is to have resi units directly facing out onto Strawberry Place. So even if you could potentially build over strawberry place practically it would never be approved at such proximity. However - I personally don't think it will get built. If they think the club wants to expand the Gallowgate - then selling the land back to the club is such an easy win on a site that probably otherwise has viability issues.
-
I'm still not convinced that the Strawberry place development is even likely. They are doing everything they can to make it seem like they're doing it (and chasing public funding to plug viability gaps being one) and have also been making moves to ensure the planning consent doesn't lapse. But I'm sure it's just a bargaining position in selling the land. We'll see.

I rate Beto tbf. He'd be a solid option in the PL.
-
We're still odds on with the bookies for top four and are a kick in the arse off a final. Second half of the season we will have Isak and Gordon to provide more options. No reason we still can't finish the job - it's mainly injuries that could fuck us.
-
Be unreal if we could scalp them for an inflated fee for Fraser.

The club are clearly completely opposed to the idea of short term signings to plug gaps in the squad. If we can't get a first teamer/youngster that's a long term target they simply won't make a signing. It's obviously a policy that comes from fiscal management in line with FFP, long term squad building but also not wanting players in the squad who may not be fully committed. I think the merits of this can be justified for sure - but it is definitely a risk leaving us short in midfield considering our set up. The solutions if we have an injury crisis there will likely involve a change of system towards a two man midfield. Irrespective of this I am really enjoying the methodical way in which we are going about squad building. Ruthlessly taking offers for deadwood when they are presented, and chasing targets over multiple windows until we get them for a price we're happy with. It won't be too much longer until we can keep doing this without having to risk leaving ourselves short. It was also really interesting watching the interviews with Gordon and Ashby. I was surprised how well they both came across - surprisingly well spoken for footballers. They also both seemed motivated to come here because they see a clear career path for their development. Becoming seen as that kind of club is a massive change from what we've been for the last 15 years.

They need midfield cover of some sort in case Partey goes down.
-
Be stunned if we made any more signings now (Ashby aside). While I know Shelvey has hardly played this season, and I think it's probably right to let him go, we're still very light in midfield and it seems a bit of a risk to continue the rest of the season with such little depth there.

Poor local knowledge in your case then! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pons_Aelius

No ffs. I’m mean it could just be somebody else with my name like.
-
Ffs somebody has signed up on the Forest forum with my name. Is that one of you lot?

Sad end to a once great ITK this. Like watching a haggered old ex pro scratching out a living doing after dinner speeches and talk ins.
-
It'll be down to length or contract too I reckon. At the very least he must have guaranteed himself an extra year through this.
-
Fwiw I wouldn't just expect cover to replace him. I'd be hoping we make a long term midfield signing - even if it's a loan-to-buy situation.
-
Although he only has 6 months left it is basically 18 as we effectively have an option to extend it if we played him twice more. Considering that I would expect some kind of fee. It would be a good move for him too if he gets a 2.5+ year deal out of it considering he's only guaranteed another 18 months here.
-
St James Metro only exists because the Metro was originally supposed to extend to the west end. I never get off/on there usually because Monument provides two routes home so is more regular service. It does now however get used more than it used to with the Helix developments. I've been surprised that there are actually quite a few stay on to the end of the line rather than get out at monument when commuting in.
-
If we can get a replacement in then let him go. Otherwise shouldn't even be entertained.
-
I was just thinking that too. Four times since 2013 they've played each other in the FA Cup. Three times since 2017.

Looks a good player Caicedo but neither Bissouma or Cucarella have set the world alight have they (nor Potter yet). Maybe Brighton just make people look better than what they are.
