The main barrier to the Gallowgate expansion is that the Strawberry Place development has resi facing out - which in terms of outlook and light could scupper the whole thing because you'd have to build more or less right up against it. At the moment the developers seem to be pressing on ahead with works to the site. There's even a new planning application in to amend the scheme. Whether this is all a ruse to to drive up the land value and then sell back to the club... who knows. Certainly if you're a developer it is much lower risk to just cash in than to build a load of offices and housing right now.

You will struggle if you don't have a membership. With membership, now limited to 1 per ticket, you will be absolutely fine.
-
Exactly. Everybody won't want to go to every game. If you're on when they're on sale and have a membership you will get a ticket.
-
Don't be daft man. Get the membership. You'll have no bother getting tickets.

CM is only a priority for me after winger and forward. However I'm honestly not massively fussed what kind of midfielder we were to sign as long as they represent an injection of quality. I can see the merits of either a defensive or attacking option because I think Bruno's (and Joelinton's tbh) role can be adapted either way.

Yes Gerry Hitchens is correct Greaves Milan 1962 Hitchens Inter 1963 Young Inter 2021 Tomori Milan 2022 Fun that there's nearly 60 years between them.

Yup. One left - probably the most obscure.
-
Yeah they're both right.

Rush is Welsh and the other four are incorrect im afraid.
-
Reversing that piece of trivia - can you name the four English players that have won Serie A?
-
Looks like Danjuma to West Ham. It shows what we're competing with this season. Got to hope we get some serious quality in forward areas.
-
Worth noting that the likes of Ekitike or Sucic for example wouldn't need to be registered in the squad. Edit: and Madueke above

Think it depends how Lewis does in pre-season tbh. If he does well we'll have 2 options either side + Dummett. I honestly think with shifting players it will ultimately come down to who there is a market for.

Lang can play either flank and up tops. Good player. Bit of a knobhead though.

Absolutely need a striker to compete with Wilson and a first choice wide player to make this a successful window meeting our immediate needs. Midfielder would be a welcome bonus.
-
Yeah - completely inadequate. Probably a 2/10.

I just really don't like large new build stadiums. From my experience they're universally soulless and crap. An architects firm can't augment the layers of history and context that comes from having a stadium develop over a hundred years on the same site surrounded by the same streets. They're created in the imagine of the modern game. Built to maximise corporate income, concessions, and enhance the 'matchday experience'. I get it because it drives income which is necessary. But personally I have no time for it. The atmosphere is sucked out of the ground by the design and ultimately the nature of matchgoers in stadia of that size. And I honestly couldn't care less about 'matchday experience' in terms of food and drink etc. If you have any sense there's a thousand other places in the city that are better. Should be 90 mins of footy and out. There's some decent new build grounds at non-league and lower league level as there's no intent for them to be anything other than what they are. But even then they're often ruined by the chosen location which is completely disassociated from the town they serve.

Spurs stadium is alright but the only thing stopping it being like any other boring modern stadium is that it's plonked more or less where the old one is so retains some of the identity. Large new build stadiums are nearly always shite atmosphere vacuums full of too many tourists - and that is no different.

There's a real production line of Balkan heritage midfielders who've been brought up in central European countries. Ultra technical, tactically astute, can play anywhere across midfield and can handle themselves. Kovacic, Rakitic, Pjanic etc. If he's anything like that lot then he needs signing up.

NUFC kits & merchandise - 2025/26 home kit leaked pg. 825
ponsaelius replied to Ryan's topic in Football
Third kit is a beaut imo. First in a long time I've been tempted to purchase, any connotations aside. -
Already capped a few times for Croatia too, although perhaps to get him locked down since he's a dual national.

Pre-season training camp is just around the corner from Salzburg. Get it done.
