6 first team players + Targett doesn't seem at all unreasonable. New signings should be first teamers but replacing fringe players, thus relegating current starters to fringe/rotation roles. Squad still needs significant improvement in quality.

Yup. I think we'll be ran similar to the likes of Dortmund or Atalanta just with a bigger budget. The players we go for should be in the 20-24 bracket as we currently have one of the oldest average squad ages in the league.

Bruno will be brilliant, and his ability is abundantly clear in moments, but in that cameo he looked miles off the pace of the league at this point.

Looked very self evident why he's not currently starting to me. ASM wasn't much cop but his outball was probably the difference between us holding on and relenting under the pressure.

I think not caring or taking an interest in your city's history is sad - particularly when it is actually so distinguished, unique and celebrated - but this is people's prerogative if they wish. But coming on and trying to simply argue that a Grade I listed example of Grainger's Georgian Newcastle is actually just a bit shite is a new one altogether.

As a total nerd the stand-off between the brutalist East Stand and Leazes Terrace is probably one of my favourite bits of cityscape in the whole of Newcastle. However - there is definitely scope for a rebuild and while the setting of Leazes Terrace will always limit the height somewhat I'm sure it is possible for some increase in capacity on that side with a modern re-design.

The comparison with Moussa Dembele is quite a good one I think. Joelinton is slightly more on the physical enforcement side than pure technical quality on the ball but they're both players who came to England as wide attackers and struggled with goal output so instead found a niche further back. Howe deserves huge credit for seeing his now very obvious qualities where previously he had seemed a hopeless case.

While I don't disagree that I'd make him clearly 4th choice at the moment - it's probably not fair to judge any of our players for their performances under Brucey earlier in the season.

Historically one of the most successful clubs in Belgium but haven't won a title since before the war. Nice story on one front but also pretty rank that basically being a PL feeder club is enough to make you a title contender. With Belgium's weird play off system they may still lose out anyway.
