No lateral movement at all in and out then? Who's come up to NL2?

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

There's been a few high profile summer friendlies at Murrayfield over the last few years. -
The Hearts non penalty on Saturday and that pen today is a four point difference. Feels like engineered drama for a last day decider.
-
This promises to be the worst football season ever
-
This is bent
-
Hearts conceding now doesn't really make any difference as 3-1 is good as 3-0, they might as well go all out for a fourth

Can't believe how much fantastic footage there is in there. Only half way through but such an excellent documentary - great explanation of cultural and societal shifts through football.

Thanks for the rec on this!

Keeps it mildly interesting at least, particularly if we somehow conspire to let this West Ham side do the double over us.

Hard to say for sure as while there was a sort of split in ends generally it was mixed. Overall I'd say it was just about 50/50, which would reflect average attendances at both clubs. Whitley were a title contender this season until young Layton Campbell went to Boro, from that point on they seemed to be more mid-table, which ultimately balanced out at play offs. I think they'll be struggling to repeat this season.

I read there was a bit of silliness from some of the kids there last night but overall I thought that was a great advert for North east non-league football. Very good crowd of 3300 (I think that was what I heard announced) and a really enthusiastic but good spirited atmosphere. Competitive game with both sets of players putting everything out there. I found myself far more invested than I expected to and was delighted to see Whitley get a trophy for their season's effort.

Get the fuck in

I agree it would be better but I think given the fixtures are midweek and start in September it would be difficult for Alliance teams to host games.

He's obviously better than him and more of a sure thing, but they'll have been completely burned by Wissa to go after anybody in that age and price bracket. And rightly so IMO.
-
There's plenty more twists to come, that's the nature of having a split like this I would say. You would fancy Motherwell in both their next games to do something tbh.

So invested in Hearts this season

I'm going along I think

The Hearts CBs pinging in shots from 30 yards when against 9 men FFS Thank fuck they got over the line
-
It's a real shame like, being replaced by a multifunctional sports facility. Might go through and watch them at the rugby ground while they're sharing that

The one thing I would say is I still think he has easily outperformed PIF over the last 4.5 years.
-
I think even if you love the bloke you do have to acknowledge that this appears an obvious moment for a reset.

It can't just be the style of play though although that's absolutely part of it. There's so few players I actually want to watch.
