Yeah let's not go for an unstable fascist mentalist
  3. I wish I'd never gone, personally. Just found the whole experience completely depressing. I'm going to Norwich next week. Going with 3 mates I haven't seen in years though, so looking forward to it. The match is almost an afterthought, depressing.

Love how Wullie is happy to slip away for one second from Pardew bashing when Poyet is brought into the discussion.
  5. That was at £15 a ticket too, not that ridiculous. At least QPR had the excuse of being charged double that. Wonder how many away fans were there as well? Dunno, but I was at the Boro - Brizzle City game last month and their away support was truly pitiful - so I doubt very many at all.
  6. Why are talking you about Santon in the Santon thread Pilko? can't you see we're trying to establish the factions within this intra-club game of Risk.

  8. 8984 at Loftus Road today. Their wagebill must be very sustainable.
  9. Santon speaks Italian tho. Surely he's in a separate team. What about Anita/Krul, do they have a team?
  10. Cheik ‏@itaiarvatz1 @elgalgojonas get out of our club tit.
  11. Would be nice if he'd see out the CL campaign with Malaga at the very least. Or even sign a new contract and give his hometown club an even bigger buyout fee.
  12. A good thing imo, as long as he's used properly. Since he's been out, teams have been able to dribble a bowling ball through our midfield without any pressure. Nobody's working as hard as he does or tracking the opposition like he does. I'd find a place for him in a central three. Suppose. Especially if Perch is injured! Anita, cabs and Jonas as a three, obertan and Marv either side of Papiss. Debuchy, Taylor, coloccini and santon at the back and the excuses are gone. That'd be my side, hope the idiot picks it.
  13. Isco will be one of the best players in the world, without a doubt.
  14. Christ, Juve would be pretty amazing with him.
  15. You're critique of my post is spot on. I'm not saying those are the concrete lads that should have been kept, I'm saying those lads are decent squad players who if left, should have been replaced with well- what you mentioned in your post you're post is fantastic. I just thought it needed to be said how poorly our board plans for squad depth, why was obvious to all of course. Our criticisms were the same in reality and I'm sure mirror most of the board's opinions.
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_UEFA_Super_Cup That Lazio team is the season they won the scudetto too. Sven couldn't really have failed.

Christ, 7k. That is fucking abysmal mate, nee offence.
  18. I went with 18 as a ball-park figure, you could argue you need more. Then you can have people out on loan, who could then maybe come back later on and offer legitimate depth if they develop with the gametime. Mind, in my perfect world we'd also be playing good football and have a set style of play where young players could drop into without too much strain. Imagine that, ey.

Really? I think it's fundamentally flawed. The manager doesn't have enough input and the players aren't being bought for what they can bring to the team but what they can bring as a financial asset. Example: Pardew clearly wanted to play 4-4-2 this season, our only signing was a midfielder who can only play in a central three. This is a good point Wullie, but in a perfect world would you rather we signed players to suit Pardewball or got rid of the manager and got somebody who knows how to use Anita, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux etc? To be honest, the transfer policy at an absolute basic level isn't terrible. Good players have came to the club. It just doesn't happen enough and with the intention to create a full squad, and there is simply too much stubborness over things like signing players in their peak, or making exceptions when a squad position absolutely has to be filled. The fact that it was apparently a difficult decision to sign Debuchy because he's a year above the designated age limit is just stupidity for example. With more flexibility in terms of padding out the squad, and with a managerial/coaching set-up that can use what players he's given it could work more effictively. edit: So basically what I'm saying is with massive fundamental changes and a new manager it might be good.
  20. The thing is we all crave a new CB, but what we really need is to go out and buy 2 new CBs and fuck Williamson/Perch off for good. That's without even touching on the age old debate of whether Steven Taylor will ever be a reliable Premier League player in terms of fitness. We should have four central defenders all with the adequate attributes to play in top flight. Not one good one, one maybe-good one that is always injured, an absolute joker and a championship holding midfielder. We're the only bloody club in the whole league that has this scenario where you can have last years team of the year CB being partnered by a player who at the moment doesn't look Championship standard. I know Colo has been underpar this season, but the inconsistencies and lack of depth in our squad is just absurd and inexcusable.
  21. Best and Guthrie played in the equally embarrassing fixture down there last year. Both also had long spells at the club of simply not being up to scratch. The jettisoning of average players is not the problem here. In fact we've still got too many of them making up key parts squad; Williamson, Simpson, Perch, Ryan Taylor, Shola, Obertan. Most of that lot wouldn't even get in our Championship starting XI. A decent club would have fucked them off by now in our 3rd season back in the top flight, not be dishing out new contracts to them like we do and having them play 30 games a season. I despair at the situation we find ourselves in, where we're having to accept people like Shola, Perch and Ryan Taylor as 'cult heroes' because of their effort/character instead of having players good enough to match the unfulfilled potential of the club. That's without even touching on people like Sammy, Bigi, Ferguson etc all playing regular games when they should be out on loan. We should have a full 18 man squad minimum of players who are good enough to be top 10 Premier League footballers, and I mean actual footballers who like having the fucking ball. Not have 5 or 6 in the line-up trying to mask the inabilities of others and ultimately dragging their own level down. It will never happen though, because it's obviously too fucking expensive for a club with 50,000 fans coming through the turnstiles and millions of pounds of revenue to have a squad of competent fucking players to pick from.
  22. I was really looking forward to Europe in particular this season, but Pardew will almost certainly see us fall out of it limply in the next round citing the excuse of our fucking pathetic league form/predicament. All of which is caused by himself. Yet some on here buy it; disregarding the Europa League as a shit competition and don't seem arsed we've been dumped out of the FA Cup yet again. I've booked up for Kharkiv not because I expect a good result, but simply because I fully expect it to be the last opportunity to watch NUFC on the continent both this season and for a long time to come. What a fucking waste, honestly what is the point of a football club and supporting it if there is absolutely no interest to win anything?
