Shame that you can count the number of genuinely Premier League quality Scottish players on 1 hand.

Shepherd was a clueless disgrace. In terms of success he was lucky we got somebody of the class of Bobby who did genuinely understand football. Not that it stopped him sacking him in the end and giving the gig to Souness.
  3. Ryo Miyaichi going out on loan to an English club apparently. Edit: To Bolton seemingly.
  4. I always feel African nations botch managerial appointments. There's a shortage of quality domestic coaches and the other option is bringing in Europeans/South Americans who are either there just for the money and/or struggle to cope with the differing culture/mentality/style of play etc.
  5. In their Premier League history, NUFC have a home goal difference of +244. For away games, it's -136 #nufc

Played well away at Sunderland last season before getting off injured. Did he? Remember he threw himfself in the way of a free kick but that was it Awful, awful player. The Andy Carroll effect. Where the standards are set so low the bare minimum counts as 'playing well'.

  9. Yeah, same. Must be a cult hero cos they were shouting his name every time he got the ball.
  10. If the mackems get yet another late winner I'll go spare.
  11. Are the mackems booing that Faroun or is that the Boro fans shouting his name?
  12. Mackems will piss this, Boro are shite.
  13. Would be even better if they allowed away fans.

Somebody just retweeted this on my feed... Masterplan @Masterplan_safc Love it when the mags get beat me like, feels better than a Sunderland win!!! #safc #nufc
  15. He really seems it, tbh. Seems to show no desire to improve as a player. Seems very content and settled in the side (in a negative way, that is ). No pressure on his place, doesn't have to really bust a guy to pull a salary etc The fact he has a video game of himself and is trifling over a new contract speaks volumes to me. Don't think he quite gets it. He's a mediocre player. That and slating infinitely better players like Dzeko and the Brazilian twins on Twitter.

If Ba and Cissé are in the squad for Wednesday they have to start.

I would hate to move Ba, he's one of the last players I'd like to see moved, I know you said you wouldn't do it. No I wouldn't because I can't wait to see him alongside a proper striker. However, when we signed Ba everybody expected an on the spot goalpoacher. He's proved to be far, far more than that. He's been a #10 and a #9 in one this season and done the lot. He's an allround footballer who could easily play wide left and has done in his career. The problem with us is every time we try to swicth formations it just ends up in the same disjointed mess. There's no reason why Ba wide left in a front 3 means he's there solely to get it wide and cross for a centre forward. There's no reason he couldn't be the same goalthreat from that position if the team plays in a fluid manner.

both would be absolutely wasted being outwide. Ba has played most of his career wide left in a 4-3-3. I would keep him upfront in the same system we've played all season but it is an option.

Not disagreeing that he is unsuited to the role but that is hardly the function of a wide player in a 4-3-3.
