Are there? Even if there is, that alone wont be sufficient to keep us in the league. Birmingham finished 9th(?) with Stephen Carr as a first choice RB. I agree it's going to be a massive struggle but with a bit of luck the squad we've got now plus a couple of frees and loans we could still realistically finish 17th. Stephen Carr has been class for Birmingham this season, they also spent around 16M this season and thats before fee's for the loans of the likes of Hart, Chucho, Vignal and Tainio. If we spend 16M If we spend anywhere near 16M I'll be massively shocked. Carr may have been class (never watched them really) but that's my point, hopefully Simpson can be class for us. Carr was **** when he left us 4(?) years ago. I checked before and they spent £5m on Johnson and £1.5m on Ferguson and that was it (excluding sales as well). Our squad is better than Birmingham's championship squad as well IMO, so as I say, I don't think its unreasonable to think we'll finish 17th.

Does 'no capital outlay' mean we won't even buy after selling? Because if we do that there will still be outlay on players even though no net loss.
-
Buy all of them sell them on for a profit, genius.

Just looking at this poll makes me wonder why Carroll is not rated by our fans. Top scorer this season, second best assister, excellent defensively and still finished behind Jonas, Nolan and Lovenkrands. Colo and Jose are rightfully ahead of him but I thought he'd be higher than he is.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/gamelog?id=28600&cc=5739 Villa v Osasuna, Mallorca, Bilbao, Real? Edit- Sure it's not the first Spaniard to do it for Barcelona?

Spelled Wrexham isn't it?

http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/7448/ited.jpg If he keeps growing, we could have him just stand in goal sticking his arms out and he'll be unbeatable. They could have at least got the badge in the middle of the picture. 'Move to the right, no, my right...oh never mind...'

Shut up man, him and Ronaldo have 53 between them in the league. Their defence and lack of real quality in midfield is the reason they've 'only' accumulated 95 points so far. Higuain and Ronaldo missing golden opportunities against Barcelona x 2 and Lyon has nothing to do with it? Your head is so far up Higuain's arse you probably never saw any of this. 53 in the league is impressive but like I say, scoring hatricks against bottom half teams means nothing.
-
I thought the same about Torres actually but you never know these days, both money and trophies talk. Higuain is a good player but scoring 2 and 3 against bottom half teams isn't what wins you titles. He may progress and turn out to be a top, top striker but if they want instant success they be better off breaking the bank for Rooney (or Torres).

Villa, Pato, Torres?

Finally following the Arsenal model.

If we did buy Martins back we'd have to pay at least £10m surely? I'm sure there's better players out there for that money.

He hasn't just changed his accent though. He's speaking so he sounds like a foreigner struggling to speak English and has re-arranged the bloody words in his sentences. The Dutch have to be one of the best groups of people in the world for speaking English, I'm sure they'd understand if he just spoke normally in English and toned down his Yorkshire(?) accent.

That performance wouldn't have taken place halfway through the season. The reason Jonas played so well against Man U was because he was playing under a good manager.
-
In an ideal world we'd get rid of both Shola and Best, can't see it happening though.

Roll on Carlisle (or any other pre-season game arranged prior to the aforementioned game).
-
Krul wonder save, offside though.,
-
One is good though.

MAKE SOME SUBS1!11
-
Get in Loven (and Barton). Sounded quality, like Carroll v Scunthorpe(?).
-
Vile club riddled with vile players. Their actions don't lie. This.
-
Doubt he's fit enough to start, to be fair to Hughton, even if it is slow paced.
-
Would have like to have seen Nolan, Carroll and Vuckic as the subs. Can't happen now. :-[
