  1. One of the (many) problems with us is that I doubt we'd have the enthusiasm of most promoted teams. Teams like Hull come up and are running around playing for the lives, trying to prove a point etc. (first bit of the season anyway) whereas I get the feeling the likes of Nolan will be strolling around because they think they are established PL stars.
  2. Most people have said we'd need a decent manager to be fair.
  3. What I don't get is that if we do have a tiny bit of money to spend, then why spend it on Kilgallon. He's not better than Colo or Taylor (I assume) and it's clear that we have more pressing issues.
  4. Not with Hughton in charge. Good managers get teams playing better than they can on paper, look at our defence that played CL footy for god's sake. Say what you want about Phil Brown but that Hull squad that stayed up was woeful, with a decent manager and a few buys we could probably stay up.
  5. Agreed. Every time we're crap he just says the division is tough. You always hear Ferguson saying stuff like 'we weren't good enough' but never with Hughton.
  6. He came off the bench and scored the winning goal last game didn't he? Lualua seemed to be on the cusp of the first team when Keegan took over, fast forward to now, a division lower, and he can't seem to get on the bench. He always seems to do alright for the reserves, usually the best player (from what I've heard and the few games I've seen) so it's weird he hasn't been given a chance.
  7. Even if you think Carroll is **** I don't get how you can say his attitude is rubbish. He might be a **** off the field but he always seems to get stuck in.
  8. I don't really like him, especially not when he plays at the expense of Guthrie. Apart from the Watford goal he's been pretty average/rubbish.
  9. Yorkie, 7/10 for Nolan? He was rubbish. The reason Derby started to get into the game in the second half was because of the massive hole Nolan was leaving in the middle of the pitch. 2/10 for me.
  10. Lets move the CCC 2nd most creative player if assists are a indicator just for the crack. The scouse thug should/is back soon so he will more than likely want to be/will be the main man in the middle of the park. You're assuming that his assists will just dry up in the centre - why? I want to know this as well...I'm confused.
  11. I'd love to know what he says to them at half time after the second half performances at Barnsley, on Saturday and tonight. Probably nothing. Nolan probably gives the team talks.
  12. He's been our best player for about the last month or so (around about that anyway). I've got a feeling he won't look as good in the PL, solely because our central midfield is **** and our defence is going to be exposed again like last season. Put him in Spurs or Villa's team and I reckon most pundits would be falling over themselves to praise him.
  13. Just because he creates out wide doesn't mean his best position is out wide. He creates goals because he's good footballer not because he's out on the wing. He wasn't amazing last season, no surprise, we got relegated.
  14. It's our lack of goalscorers that's the problem. Not the service.
  15. The point is, we didn't always grind out results with Harewood. We did drop points!
  16. Didn't you say last night that if Harewood came back we'd have four of the best strikers in the league? We could've done with a Harewood vintage tonight like, maybe the Notts Forest or Doncaster perormances. Harewood has more goals than your pal Carroll despite having half the time on the pitch. If Ranger, Ryan Taylor and Steven Taylor had finished their easy chances today would anyone have even brought up Harewood? No... No comment needed but lots of :mackems: :mackems: I'd like a comment to be honest because I haven't got a clue what you're going on about. It's not like Harewood scored in every game he played. When we were winning without Harewood scoring were you asking for another goalscorer? Because Harewood was looking like a goalscorer which is what we needed tonight but your apparent argument is that if we had scored these "easy" chances we wouldn't even be talking about Harewood. Do you not realise why I am laughing at your comment? f*** sake! I don't think he would've made a difference tonight because the reason we looked decent in the first half was because of the movement and options created by the space made up front - Harewood starting tonight would've been Sheff Weds all over again. Yes he may be more likely to finish a chance when one appears but his lack of movement could mean far fewer chances being created for the team. More generally, I'm unsure as to whether or not I'd re-sign him due to the four forwards all being fit now, and expect Ashleys preference would be not too due to the additional demand on the wage bill. I'd be more inclined to push for a Wilshere on loan than get Harewood back - as the need for some creation is greater than the need for a fifth forward imho. Good post.
  17. Maybe so. But let's not rewrite history and say we would've scored everytime we don't score without him. I didn't say that, i just don't like starting a game with Carroll and Lovenkrands. I said 2 days ago to Kezman that the partnership wouldn't work. They've played together once haven't they? Bit early to say it won't work. We were playing alright in the first half.
  18. We created plenty of chances which neither got on the end of or put wide. Would Harewood have held his line like Ryan Taylor did and get that chance? Would he have been quick enough to react like Ranger? Maybe he would've, maybe not though.
  19. Should've done that instead of replacing Ryan Taylor with Pancrate.
  20. Maybe so. But let's not rewrite history and say we would've scored everytime we don't score without him.
  21. If Carroll or Lovenkrands missed those chances then you'd have a better point.
  22. No ones saying he made no difference, he won us points, he improved. He wasn't however scoring every game, he missed chances. We don't need to bring him back up every time we don't score. There were times we were woeful with him and won in spite of him.
