  1. I thought you didn't like slagging off other fans? Surely they should be praised for turning up...
  2. David Craig saying fans should be chuffed.
  3. I wouldn't say Lovenkrands has anything other than a poor scoring record either to be honest.
  4. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/10/19/hughton-plays-down-marlon-harewood-snub-72703-24964269/ Didn't notice this at the time. It would be stupid to blame one player for anything but maybe Harewood has dragged down the morale a little since he came? Either way, he should stop being a ****, he was crap all game and deserved to come off even earlier.
  5. I'm the one talking drivel? When you're coming out with stuff like: "When? He wasn't exactly a handful for Forrest was he? A handful of s**** maybe." I agree with some of the points you made in your last post but then you had to spoil it with the drivel stuff. All I said was that he wasn't comparing Drogba's and Carroll's abilities which is blatantly true and he probably only used the Drogba example because Ronaldo rates him highly, hardly drivel.
  6. Unbelievable statement, considering the striker you champion Drogba scored 7 goals in 47 games in his early career yet you say he is the best striker in the world. I didn't see Drogba play before his days at Marseilles so I can't comment. I have seen Carroll for the last year though, and he looks to be a pretty f***ing rubbish football who occassionally uses his size to very good effect. Fair enough, but he's young,he is a good size (especially for this league), good left foot, handy in the air so he obviously has some ability and potential.. just like Drogba did back then. I'm certain if we had a young Didier who had 7 in 47 games, you would be saying he wouldn't be a top-tier striker right? let alone world class. So you shouldn't be too quick to right him off just yet. Comparing Carroll to Drogba He's not comparing their respective abilities though is he? He's comparing the situations and saying it has been proven in the past that writing off a striker at 20 is a bit silly. Don't let that minor point get in the way of a 'funny' post though.

    Players in public

Exactly. You'd think the bloke who is probably our most unfit player would try to avoid alcohol but apparently not...
  8. I'm fairly sure Carroll will play PL football even if its for the likes of Bolton, Stoke etc. Although I do think he has the potential to do better.
  9. It didn't hit a balloon did it? The defender went to kick the balloon but I don't think the ball hit it. Pretty sure the cross hit the balloon, so the defender missed the ball letting the Sheffield player score Ah, that does sound right, my memory is a bit hazy.
  10. It didn't hit a balloon did it? The defender went to kick the balloon but I don't think the ball hit it.
  11. And the two refers to the two goals Carroll's head as been involved in...
  12. That's right, one is one more than nothing. I wondered where Carol Voderman had got to after countdown. And two* is one more than one, what's your point idiot? *You obviously can't read so just to let you know, the two refers to the two goals that Carroll's head was involved in (one a goal, the other a direct assist). Now you can carry on with your usual crappy, negative, sarcastic and generally worthless posts.
  13. I agree about the CBs being crap (although to be fair to Simpson he is a RB), where were they for their goal? Why were Smith and Jose the nearest outfield players to Blackstock?
  14. You can see a goal coming from Ranger who hasn't scored but not from Carroll who has scored? Gallowgate Toon: Carroll has scored one and set up one with his head (not loads obviously but its not nothing either), he's won countless headers throughout the season, say he's lazy can't shoot etc. but I can't see how you can say his heading is ****, as I said, he had a bad game yesterday
  15. This isn't an overreaction? He played bad in a team that is ****, no surprise. Harewood hasn't played football for two years because he's woeful. How's it an overreaction? Andy Carroll hasn't proven himself at any senior level yet and you can't use the s*** team excuse this season, we're second in the league. We were all over Forest in that second half and he didn't even get a sniff and if you're using that logic Harewood must be better because he actually had some chances yesterday playing for a 's*** team'. Look at it this way, since we've been in the Championship Carroll has been outdone by Kevin Nolan and Shola Ameobi, with the latter playing about 4 games. Harewood isn't a world beater but he's hardly woeful. Take away his Wolves stint, he's had a tidy record in the Championship pretty much always getting well into double figures, and he did score 14 PL goals in his first season for West Ham. Give him some more game time and he'll get us goals at this level imo. We're second in the league and yes were are playing ****, I can't believe people don't notice this, we've been **** all season. Carroll didn't have a good game, I agree, but to start saying stuff like his heading is always crap is just rubbish. As for your last bit...Harewood should be given time but Carroll, who's 20, should be written off? Right. neither should be written off, harewoods finding his feet at a new club after 2 years of little to no football so it will take a little bit of time and carroll is young and learning, what he offers us is plenty of effort and work rate and while i agree he needs to work on his shooting its a bit ridiculous to write him off now Yep, I agree.

As for your last bit...Harewood should be given time but Carroll, who's 20, should be written off? Right. Edit- A bit of faith in Carroll and he'll come good IMO, he's got bags of potential, as has Ranger, and it's mental to write either off at the moment.
  17. 1 in 4? Come on Come on what? What happens if Harewood does get to ten games and has only scored 2 or 3? I'm surprised Carroll doesn't get the Oba Martins 'coming back from an injury' excuse afforded to him as well. Harewood played less than half and hour against Ipswich and QPR. He's the only proven goal scorer we have fit and has to persevered with. Surely Carroll's record should read 2 in 8 then?

  19. Or relying on another striker he won't score many either. 1 in 4 for Harewood now, when he gets to 2 in 10 does he get booted out the team as well? There's a reason the strikers haven't been scoring many and I don't think its solely down to their individual abilities...
  20. Regardless of who's been scoring we've played most of our best football with Ranger and Carroll up front, I don't see why Harewood *has* to be in the team. We managed fine before he arrived, even with Shola out.
  21. One of the wonders of having a half decent manager.
  22. This isn't an overreaction? He played bad in a team that is ****, no surprise. Harewood hasn't played football for two years because he's woeful.
  23. You may be right, but when he has two opposition and his team-mate is free 10 yards away he shouldn't try to f***ing beat two men, he looks like he has frigging tunnel vision, has no awareness that his team-mates are free despite them and 4000 mental Geordies shouting it out to him. Gutierrez might be frustrating but we weren't exactly doing well before he came on either. In fact we were getting pissed on. I never said we weren't getting pissed on, I expressed an opinion about Guttierez based on what I saw of him yesterday. Based on what I saw yesterday I'd rather see Jonas starting left wing ahead of Lovenkrands every day of the week. Rather remarkably I made the comment that Lovenkrands should never be played on the wing when we signed him the first time and you won't be hearing me arguing for him to be played on the wing at any point in the future either. So basically Jonas is the best option like i said. We agree. If he gains some awareness instead of running around with blinkers on it will improve his game, yes. So until he gains some awareness he shouldn't start? Who said he shouldn't start? f*** me, I hate arguments like this. "So you think that? Bloody hell." "Tell me where I said that" "You said this it amounts to the same thing" etc. repeat ad nauseum. Lucky for you that's not the case here.
