Ronaldo is one of my favourite players of all time but it's practically impossible to separate him and Zidane (not least because they play different positions), to say one is so much better than the other is mental. I don't know how you can say Ronaldo won 2002 himself but not the same about Zidane in France's 06 success. Ronaldo had Rivaldo and Ronaldinho in amazing form backing him up, who did Zidane have?
-
The same Zidane that won the 98 World Cup and always singlehandedly won the 06 won as well?
-
Puyol having a vblinder
-
That was better than Drogba's this afternoon.

Man U at home would be quite good I think. We don't need to worry about being embarrassed because they've thrashed us in the PL anyway (6-0, 1-5) and I think the atmosphere would be class.
-
Exactly, why do people always fail to recognise this. I would agree we don't want to burn ourselves out but if you want to conserve energy then chasing the ball for one half isn't the best way to do it. Conserving energy would mean keeping the ball.

He did what he always does when he's high on confidence and started taking players on and megging them.

Bit like taking her to the Arctic Circle and then complaining when she's a bit nippy. Of course she's going to get racially abused there, those people aren't human beings. Still remember them giving it the monkey noises at Shola when he played for England U-21s at the SOS. Sub-human scum. And 'Rule Brittania' when Bernard come on once.
-
No surprise, doesn't Sunderland have the highest proportion of National Front members?
-
They had more possesion but did nowt with it. We still made some decent chances, probably as many good chances as them. Lovenkrands was put through a few times, Smith's chance and Ranger's header.
-
As for Swansea's carpet football....it was shit. The amount of times they tried threading a ball through that went to no-one or was ushered out by Enrique was mental. No doubt there's an excuse for it all though.
-
Ranger's chance wasn't easy btw, the ball was quite high and was difficult for him to get his head over it.

Couldn't give two hoots about his insider knowledge, it was just the pathetic way he drew attention to it. I agree. Elmo if you were in danger of losing your job you may as well have not alluded to knowing the team. Now you've said you know it you may as well post it. -

Why does he always bang on about his youth in interviews then? He's clearly physically capable. Must be something behind the scenes then eh? You're so quick to rubbish any other argument but you haven't got a clue yourself about what's going on otherwise you wouldn't be saying it must be 'something behind the scenes.' Nile doesn't give me the impression that he needs any protecting 'mentally'. And tbh, no 18 year old should be protected from the ever so horrifc and painful world of professional football. I agree man, I just think that's what Hughton thinks and it seems the most logical reason. -

You've said loads of times in the past that Ranger isn't ready, what's suddenly changed in a month? -

Not physically. Mentally obviously. I'm not saying its right but that's most likely what he's doing. As I said, if Ranger had been fighting/missing training etc. I doubt he'd even be on the bench. -

Hughton says in all his interviews he's protecting Nile because he's young. If there had been a bust up or something he wouldn't even be on the bench. -

Post the team then Pilko! Everyone is going off Skirge's which he's already said is a guess. -
Coloccini wears no. 2 because that's the number Argentinean CBs wear. Their numbers are different to ours because of different interpretations of formations and stuff in the past.

199/200 Forgot Shearer.

Swansea = Champions League standard team, paid for by money found in the settee, by the sounds of it. -
I don't really remember much because it was ages ago, but the gist of it was definitely that they would be able to cope without CL money. Whether that's true is another matter...
-
I'm sure I heard in an interview a few months ago the owners saying Liverpool were run with the expectation of never reaching the CL i.e. they never spend any money they don't have. That's why Benitez always has to sell to buy.

It's Heidar. Because everyone is going to know the spelling of some nobody foreigner. whoooosh You didn't answer Phil's question about why you though binnsy was wrong and were arsey about it. Then you just say 'it's Heidar', wtf is this supposed to mean then? It's self-evident why he is wrong. You wouldn't say something green is blue, then get told you're wrong, then ask why, would you? To most people Helguson's brilliance isn't axiomatic. I'll leave it at that, even I'm bored now.
