    RIP sale thread.

Someone the other day posted the net spend of PL clubs with Arsenal spending less than Boro and Sunderland. You can do well without money, it just makes it more difficult.
  2. He's back in South Africa, playing for one of the biggest teams there, with a chance to go to the World Cup. One of the biggest teams in SA! Sounds great. There's always loads of crap players at the WC, this one will be no different.
  3. That was really weird. That shot of Hughes having to watch Fergie and the 4th official have a chuckle was a bit over the top. Was funny seeing Hughes' face though.
  4. He wasn't committed enough for us but he'll always be a good finisher so people should get used to him scoring at least the odd goal.
  5. There are better clubs then us out there. Why would we want Bellamy anyway if we go up? He's 30 plus now and was never a great goalscorer he would be a stupid signing, especially considering his attitude. Also, I'm wondering do you even support Newcastle? You always seem to be negative and have an Aston Villa player as your avatar.

    Joey Barton

Nonsense, he was s*** against Cardiff, did much less than Barton. Comes on and provides an assist and he's the best midfielder at the club? Drivel. Drivel? You are a complete idiot. Who said I was basing it on the last game? **** me. So far this season Guthrie has been our best midfielder I can't see how anyone would say otherwise (see edit!). All these Barton lovers are just idiots, he had three decent games under Keegan and has done nothing else in a NUFC shirt. Guthrie and Smith is our best central midfield partnership and Barton will be lucky to scrape a place on the RW ahead of Geremi who is also better than him at the moment (hardly a great situation for our 'best midfielder' to be in is it?) Edit- Forgot about Smith, Guthrie is our best attacking minded midfielder I should say. Certainly ahead of Barton anyway. Anyway, I see you didn't even mention Smith but compared Guthrie's performances to Barton. Do you honestly think Barton is our best midfielder? Guthrie looked out of his depth in the premiership, Barton put in numerous motm performances for Man City. Therefore, him being a worse player than Guthrie, from an objective point of view, is drivel. How long can a player survive on past reputation though? With that logic we should say Butt is our best player because he was quality for Man U in the past. At the moment Guthrie is on the way up and improving whilst Barton seems to have given up.
  7. Yeah i'd kind of agree, Barton's problem for me is that he's always one step ahead. That wouldn't be an issue if he was playing in a good team in the Prem, but i wouldn't say we have a team full of footballing intellectuals. Whenever Barton loses the ball via a pass, it is never behind his intended target, it is always in front. Sometimes this is down to the quality of the ball, but sometimes it's actually the fault of the runner. Let's not forget he's had nothing to aim at all game in the way of pace, we've had no real wingers to run the line and Andy Carroll isn't really the type of striker to latch on to a clever through ball. He does however look a bit half-hearted but when it was 0-0 and 1-1 he was trying, he started the game brightly, and when the equalised he really did perk up. That makes me wonder as to why for those 50 minutes or so, he looked a totally different player. The only reasonable conclusions i can come up with are fitness, Hughton's tactics when we go 1 up (because all the players just seem to take the foot off the pedal) or is it complacency and arrogance? He is a very talented player, and while he's only really occasionally shone for us he has played some football that only some of our squad could dream of doing. Barton was complete crap though, to say he's one step ahead of the team and so its partly their fault is a complete insult. He can't rethink his passes? You think if Xavi was in our team we'd be saying the same things? No. Barton needs to pull his finger out because at the moment he's up there with Butt as our worst midfielder. Plus Barton has only played about three good games in the PL, why couldn't he thread decent balls through for Owen (or Martins or Viduka)? It's not the fault of his teammates and the buck stops with him ultimately. So you think yesterday that none of his passes could have been read slightly better? I remember him playing a one-two yesterday after a corner iirc and it was the right idea, but the intended receiver (Ryan Taylor?) didn't budge and it went out and Barton got the blame. Barton is a creative midfielder who DOES thread good through balls, Lovenkrands when he was called marginally offside yesterday was put through by Barton for example. I'm not suggesting that he wasn't sloppy, he was in areas, but some of our movement is terrible. The example of Xavi would in fact would strengthen my point because people seem to forget that Xavi was hardly setting the world alight until Ronaldinho showed up, he wouldn't be half as good if he wasn't playing with the likes of Messi, Henry, Bojan, Ibra etc. Imagine Xavi trying to pick out Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan. I sure Barton would be better around better players but if he's as good as everyone seems to think he should be able to take the game by the scruff of the neck and dominate still. His teammates aren't superstars but the opposition is woeful. I wouldn't be that bothered by his mistakes either if he tried hard but his workrate is non-existant these days.

  10. You can see it on nufc.co.uk, if you are a subscriber of course. Anyone know where on the site this is? I've suscribed and everything but all I can see it? Only saw the goals on the Steven Taylor interview. THE MANAGER Aye cheers, found it on Point Of Hugh.

    Man City

Still don't like the fact that Given left mid-season. It would be funny if Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all kept their CL places and Given never played in the CL for City.

    Man City

What's he said like? God i can't stand that man. I didn't hear what he said because he sends me to sleep but I hate him. I hope Man U and Chelsea get massive wins tomorrow.

    Nile Ranger

It's like someone said the other day, some people feel the need to balance out the (mostly) jokey over the top praise he gets. He put pressure on their defence today which allowed Carroll to do his thing and definitely helped changed the game. Not the mention all the free kicks he won, which kept us in their half. Certainly a promising start to his NUFC career even though he hasn't scored. Certainly deserves a starting place in my eyes.
  16. We could've seen Carroll's chance if it wasn't for that bald gay bloke and big gay bus ride.
  17. Can I just ask those people who think Ronaldo is the best player in the world, what does Messi have to do this season to prove he's the best? Win another treble?
  18. Plymouth fans were terrible though, I know it's a massive journey and all that but they were silent until their goal, then gave up again after 2-1. Not really How not really? They hardly sang all game.

  20. The fans weren't very good today to be honest, so that bloke must have low expectations. Even the Toon Ultras gave up a bit in the second half (not having a go!), and the whole place was quiet.
  21. Burney 3-1 Sunderland Boro 0-5 WBA Newcastle 3-1 Plymouth. The holy trinity.
  22. As I said before the game we should play Ranger-Carroll up front. The Ranger and Guthrie subs changed the game. Carroll was quality when Ranger came on, his chance when he hit the bar looked amazing, hope we see it on the highlights. Barton was terrible again, Guthrie should always be in the team ahead of him.
