Really? harper is w*** and vastly overrated And what can you tell me about Krul aside from what I know already after having seen him for all 140 mins of first-team football he's played? The worst you can say then is the jury is still out on Krul because from what we've seen he's been very good, I don't think you can say Harper is better (even though we may find out he is).

Comfortable top half under Hughton, play-offs hopefully under Shearer or A.N. Other. If we sign a couple of players before the window ends maybe even automatic promotion.

to be fair, Barton has proved he can do it in the premiership So has Jonas in spells, I doubt you'll find many wingers better than him in this league same as you won't find many CMs better than Barton.

Anyone else reckon the players seem genuinely chuffed when they score in the Championship? May just be green is always greener and all that but it makes a change from Ronaldo standing on the spot with a smug look on his face.

what were these quality games that barton had under keegan ? Can't remember which game it was but one of them he broke up play loads making some good tackles, then you've got the Spurs game where he set up a couple of goals (I think). As I said before though, at the moment he's got a lot to prove, it's all potential at the moment.

Ronaldo is probably right, Barton showed under a decent man-manager (Keegan) that he can be a quality player and that was in the PL, whether he can ever work under Shearer is another question. If Shearer does get appointed I can't see him having enough time to sell Barton and get a replacement especially when we have more pressing problems in teh squad.

As good? I said he was a decent keeper, no more than that I just mean he's about average, everyone seems to be going to extremes. Fair enough if you think he's decent, I reckon I'd say the same. Still think we should give Krul a go though.

Harper isn't is bad as people are saying nor as good as Ronaldo is saying. But either way Krul should be given his chance, football selection should be a meritocracy and Krul deserves his chance.

I'm with madras, when has he ever shown himself to be our best player? I've never seen him play better than Smith did today.
