  1. Shearer at 25, right..... Shearer was one of the best strikers in the world at the time so **** off.
  2. Where's the guarantee Martins will score goals? So there's no guarantee either Martins or Beckford will score goals, so we would keep the one on 70k a week? Less than Owen? Brilliant. Less than Viduka? Not from what I've heard but even if it is, brilliant. He's on less than Drogba as welll!!!! What's the point in having complex agreements involving pay cuts (which he wouldn't take in a million years), why not just start afresh with a different striker, one that won't be on silly wages and if we do get back into the PL then stay fit and score some goals. Did you even read the other bit? I said if they do keep him then they must come to some sort of agreement with him and the others over wages. I agree 100% we cannot keep him and pay him a massive wage and if he does really want to stay then he will be willing to talk terms. Yes, I addressed it further down in my post.
  3. No managers accused Nolan of lack of effort or Owen or Viduka.... Because Owen is Owen, managers see him as untouchable. Capello has alluded to it though Viduka? O'Leary had a go at him for it several times, Mclaren also did iirc. As for Nolan? He's just a terrible footballer who Megson got rid of for £4m The whole '....' was inferring most of our squad could be considered lazy, yet none of our managers have said anything. On top of this, who gives a **** what any managers have said? I've seen with my own eyes Martins being lazy on countless occasions.
  4. Rob Lee using 'we' when referring to Newcastle.

  7. I know, it's crazy! Would you people rather he came out and said 'f*** newcastle I'm glad I sucked it dry for the last few years, bunch of c***s'. Get a grip. If he has fell in love with the club he's got a funny way of showing it. He's staying for the money but so what? Is he one of our better or worse players? As far as I'm concerned we've got a better chance of coming back up next season if he's here. There is plenty of other dross we can get shot of first. We could have another striker for less than a third of his wages who would score just as many probably even more. That's the problem. As for the other dross, yeah I want rid of them as well.

  9. Or alternatively buy a striker for cheaper on lower wages who would score more. Nah, we should just keep Martins because he loves the money...sorry...club. Great plan... who to buy though ? Beckford, Cox? I agree though, its going to be hard to find a striker to play in the Championship for less than 70k a week. Ah right so you think we can get them to come? I doubt it very much, but even if we got Beckford who you playing him along side? Carroll or Shola ? We couldn't get them to come? Just offer Beckford 50k a week and we'd still be saving money.

Another striker willing to play for less than 70k a week. **** me. Where is all those sudden Oba love coming from? He was part of our relegation as everyone else was and we haven't finished higher than 12th(?) with him in the squad.

To be fair you have to give them credit. The organisation involved to pool everyone's benefits must have been difficult.

'Consortia' Someone's been brushing up on his Latin.
  15. Get your head out of the clouds. He only joined the club for money in the first place, so yes, he is on over 60k a week. And if other club comes in with the same offer he'll be out the door quicker than he's ever ran this season. It's sad how people can be convinced by a few empty statements. Talk is cheap.
  16. To have a player on our books earning 70k in the Championship is stupid, how are new signings going to feel? If we sign Beckford what wages will he then demand?
  17. You not seen the back? The Botafogo message boards are going crazy at the huge white patch.
  18. I can see Carr linking well with Ronaldo but don't think Robben will protect Babayaro enough.
  19. Transfer article's a good'un then!
  20. *crosses fingers* Didn't realise Nolan was 29. Why? Because he looks like a 40 year old alcoholic?

He may be a figurehead, he maybe a big contributor to the consortium and with a potential 33% of ownership (his funds) looming you simply cannot say he's just another employee. good point, and remember last time as part of what you could call a consortium of the halls and the shepherds, freddy was obsessed about building up his control of the club and expanding his influence, which is why board members weren't replaced, footballing decisions were made by him, and dodgy deals with NTL and MGM were made. Where’s Shepherd going to get £33m from? He was going to buy Mallorca, I'm sure he's got a bit of money in his account.

erm...no He'd hired a good manager at exactly the right time and promptly gave him the funds to bring in new players Didn't Ashley do that?

Relatively speaking it's a tiny business so should be done by Tue/Wed. I'm sure papers have said due diligence takes about 2 weeks normally, could be wrong though!

Probably the most realistic, and a sense of absolute desperation. If he comes back I'll really have to question whether I could actively support NUFC any more. I'd want them to do well, but that's about it. Explain in words, not stupid f***ing smilies You'd stop supporting the team just because of who the owner is? I didn't think I'd need to spell it out, seems mental to me. Might do to you, but I've seen Shepherd and a few of his cronies in action first hand and I didn't like it at all. If any of you think he gives a f*** about the club or the supporters over his own fortune and bloated, self inflated ego, then you are wrong - in a big way. I don't like Shepherd either so, no, I don't really want him back. That said, I wouldn't stop going to games just because he's in charge.

I'd buy Gary Glitter's back catalogue and an 'I Hate America' T-shirt.
