Honestly? Is this due to Givens incredible record of saving long distance shots? The build up to the goal came about through Harper's poor distribution though. Given was purely positioned for Ryan Taylor's goal against us. The relegation was down to more than just Harper or Given.

No offence but that's a pretty dumb comment. That's like saying John O'Shea is amazing because he's won back to back titles whereas in reality Bassong is probably just as good. I honestly think Bassong should be our number one priority to keep, it makes me sick when I think the likes of Butt and Nolan may be on the same wages next season whereas Bassong may leave to someone like Spurs. He's miles away from it at the moment but I can't see why he can't become one of the worlds' best centrebacks. The mistakes he makes now can be easily rectified (bad positioning etc.) whereas with someone like Bramble (**** control, technique) and Colo (coward) will never reach the next level.

Owen finished the season with a league goal ratio inferior to Martins'. Take away Owen's penalty against Blackburn and he actually scored less. Consider the fact that Beyond Decemeber Martins really shouldn't have been playing and it paints a pretty damning picture. A fully-fit Martins would terrorise the championship man, surely even the haters can see that Why would you 'take away Owen's penalty'? It's not his fault Martins can't take pens to save his life.

Yep, he was. Though I didn't see the game. Watched extended highlights this morning. He was fantastic, set up the only goal, hit the post twice and got a standing ovation when brought off with 5 to go! Only kidding just an extention of what he did for us. Huffed and puffed a lot, work well forwards and backwards, whilst being difficult to disposses. Other than that, no significant contribution The whole Argentinian team was crap though.
