Fixtures so far: Man City (A); West Ham (H); Fulham (H); Villa (A); Hull (H). First game-aside that's a very forgiving start to the season - about as easy as it gets - and we've still dropped 5 points from the last available 12 (again, first game-aside).

Our next 6 League fixtures aren't pretty, would be pleasantly surprised if we picked up many points at all from them. Sort of makes you wish you beat teams like West Ham and Hull at home.

I thought the people were lovely there when I visited, was really surprised. Helpful, interesting and no chip on their shoulders. Maybe I got lucky.

The average Toon fan is, at the very least, content with Pardew. We've been hearing these stories from the ground too often for them not to be true. He doesn't just pick the team and make the subs, he trains the team and directs the tactics and is also there to motivate the players. Although that said the only sub I'd have brought on at that point was Sammy Ameobi. You don't bring Tiote on when you're losing.
