Bigi too on the list of NUFC examples. You've also seen plenty of examples of other clubs striking gold when reaching lower down, Everton being a good case in point.

I can't be arsed Deuce, someone else can start a new thread if they like. I hate everything.

It's definitely a big problem, not sure if we do it because we're convinced that's by far the best value, or because our scouting network is so small in scale.
-
Sorry, just thought of this thread but hadn't remembered my selections. I'm not that fond of many of our players at the minute, strange what results can do.

Wenger getting bored with it all and doing his own personal Football Manager challenge in real life.

I think when Pardew comes out with stuff like that it's generally to prepare the fans for the loss because he knows Ashley is happy to sell. Pardew doesn't benefit from losing the players & he got stung when Derek/Mike assured him they wouldn't sell Carroll and he was fairly sure he wouldn't go...100% in fact. I think this as well, but I can't really be bothered to make the argument any more. It just seems ridiculous to me that Pardew is saying the things he does to actively shop Cabaye around. It's silly. He's just answering the fact that he can't guarantee us anything about transfers. I'll repeat it again, there had been no stories about Cabaye for weeks and weeks. The stories started again when he started waffling on about it. you'd think it would be easier to tell his agent to put about that he's available at the right price than have pardew go on tv and say that if the right price comes in for any player then they could be away (like most players at most clubs) Who knows, why did Pardew do it then? Stupidity? Maybe howking him around other clubs wasn't working and they were getting desperate. All I know is - no apparent interest or even any rumours to speak of, Pardew talks, apparent interest including actual bids from other clubs.

We really haven't. /on both counts. There had been a few weak rumours about him getting transferred, it went quiet for a few weeks, Pardew starts going on about how he's desperate not to lose him. Come on man.

We've no proof he's been a knob, we've plenty of Pardew quotes suggesting we want to cash in though.

The club have a lot of fans in the palm of their hand, any sign of a move and the player gets slated.

Honestly my workload at my real job is causing me a great deal of stress, so it's a sore subject. -

It would take forever and would invite all sorts of questions about how I came to my conclusions each week. I know what you're saying as I also vote with hope as well as expectation but we'll just have to see how the table goes. -

Can we have a poll please, I promise the Emo thread will get more interesting the further we go. So far I've personally got both results spot-on, predicting -3 vs Man City and a draw vs West Ham. Think we'll sneak this by one goal, hope so anyway. -
He hardly ever plays so it doesn't help. I'd say it must be something that's happening in training if I had any faith in the manager, but I don't. He should have had loads more minutes last season and we'd be closer to telling the calibre of player he is. In and out of the side constantly and it just seems a waste of time.

I think you're making something out of nothing here like, Jayson. So fuck if Bigi took a set piece rather than Marveaux taking it.

We couldn't even get it over the phone line

Would be amazing if someone compiled all of Phil K's posts into a book of poetry. Roses are RED So's the Sun's banner I HATE the press And so does my NANA -
Stop letting them shovel so much shit into their fucking faces.

No shit, Batman

I think he's worked out that the excuses work wonders as well, with press, former players, fans and maybe the owner. Don't know about the final one for sure because you can never be sure with him. Anyway as a result he's never really been under any pressure to change things.

Used to have to do it with numbers, think the ban was lifted about halfway through last season. -
