Is Mike Ashley steering Newcastle United in the right direction?
Stifler replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
butt will be gone thankfully smith and barton both have 1 year left after this, these 3 alone earn 160k a week, and produce fuck all in terms of quality, and with barton who is a bigger crock than owen We hope Butt will be gone, theirs still time for Hughton to give him a contract extension. Hopefully someone will come in for Smith and Barton, come on Fat Sam and Blackburn. Lets not forget that Colo and Jonas are also on high wages, are theirplayers out there who can do the same, if not better job then them for less money? -
Maybe Aston Villa isn't the club we should be looking to follow from then. I'd love to see Spurs's accounts, despite what they say I just cannot see them having a low wage bill and making a profit. Spurs 2009 accounts are also available. Turnover £113m Wage bill £60m Profit £33m (which includes £56.5m profit on player sales - Berbatov to ManU and Keane's move to L'pool were a chunk of that) So if it wasn't for silly money being thrown at them then they would of been in a position where they would have been losing money basically. Also they have bought alot of players back, plus others, which I assume will be on higher wages the when they left, and the newsignings will also be on fairly high wages.

I strongly believe that he is making this club profitable or at least so that it's not losing money, which as we are now beginning to see clubs fall is only a good thing. The transfer policy is a good one, but I'm assuming the wage budget will go up to between £30k-£40k next season to make us be able to compete but not be paying the over the odd's wages that we once did. At this moment in time I'm willing to let Ashley stay if these are his ambitions and we won't be seeing another "I'm fucking off" situation. Make no mistakes he's made mistakes, but unlike previous owners he has held his hands up and is beginning to change those and build the club upwards again. The time to see if he really has his heart (or at least financial brain) in the club and his ideas will come this summer and next season. -
But they could have moved it to a weeknd slot, even on a Friday night to allow travel back up on a Saturday - but to hold it on a Monday shows no consideration to our supporters. It's worse that we complained and they still didn't listen. True. Also it could not only seal our postion in the Premiership, but also seal Plymouth's fate for going down aswell.

I think what you do also have to take into consideration though is that thousands of fans could (if the points gap stays as it is) end up seeing Newcastle win promotion to the Premiership on TV, when otherwise they wouldn't of been able to of. Maybe it's at a cost of a handfull of fans but is it good if that is the case and plenty of people can actually see it happen? Hopefully a low cost airline will do what they did for the FA Cup tie, and put on some planes so more fans can travel easier to the south coast to and from the game.

This. Would you have him back even though he ditched us? I loved him when he was playing for us, but he went down in my estimations when he left cos he thought the grass was greener on the other side. I like to think he was one of the ones who wanted to stay but a decent offer had came in for him him and the club needed the money.

Why don't we flood the "Your on Skysports programme" on Saturday? Just say we want to speak about Newcastle or something other then this, then when you get on live just start talking about it, that will shut them up.
-
I think it's safe to say a few more games this season will have time and date changes as Sky will want to catch our promotion, I'm not too sure if the BBC have any left to show either.

HAVE, MAN! IT'S FUCKING HAVE! Could HAVE. Would HAVE. Should HAVE. JESUS CHRIST, MAN! Go and fuck yourself. I can't believe your taking something like that so seriouse when other people on here say things like ITK instead of saying the actual words, and other use a lower case "I" when refering to them selves.

Rooney, Bent, Defoe, Crouch Walcott if theirs room, and if he's even classed as a striker, I know he can play in that position.

Beat 4-0. Fecking useless bunch of tossers. You have realised by now they're taking the piss right? Knowing Scotland I would of believed the scoreline, but as soon as the 20 yard own goal thing was mentioned I relised.

What was the Scotland score?

Getting mine with Terry 6. I still don't know if I should get one or not. I'm not to sure about a name and number though, look a bit blank to not have one, but I can't think of any player to put on the back.

http://www.sportsdirect.com/umbro-england-away-shirt-2010-2012-371003 Anyone?

Or we'll meet a decent team who'll put us to the fucking sword. Yeah thats what I meant, we have got to be able to get goals out of nothing for when we come across a difficult team.
-
If we are to go far in the World Cup, then we are going to need to produce moments like the first goal. We were out played, and not doing much, then string one or two passes together and get a goal out of nothing, if we can do that at the World Cup then we will go far.

Not watching it, but assume he is filling in for the left back rather than looking after his Centre Back partner? Nah, he's in the centre with Upson who is also playing shit.
-
When did the shirt go on sale?
-
When Scholes was playing for England, it annoyed the hell out of me when he wouldn't sing...... Why should they sing? 1. It's not Englands national anthem, it's the UK's. 2. He may not be a royalist.

Upson has made 2 mistakes already.
