I mean loads of Netflix viewers went back and watched a 2nd season of Sunderland’s documentary, and Rob McElhenney went out and bought a football club.

They used to do so much, you used to be able to get wallpaper, until that got diverted to Ashley’s wallet. Loads of clubs now have Lego versions of their stadiums, and Subbuto players etc. Heck at one point we had a Monopoly board. We used to sell the best Sarsaparilla sweets. When Ashley came in though it just went downhill on what you could get, I went info’s Hull’s club shops once before a match and they had PlayStation skins and all sorts. The new Spurs mega store is massive, for the NFL they have enough space for a decent amount of every team merchandise. I don’t think I could imagine what they fill it with when Spurs play there. Aye most of it is tacky, but kids love it and it gets them involved in the club. We can’t even buy an iPhone case without having to use Redbubble.

I don’t get it. The Amazon documentary isn’t on traditional broadcast. They could have had an episode drop later in the season, or at the end. They could have went all out. Had an episode dedicated to the deal, people designing it, and the final product revealed. Instead we have nearly a year until you can buy any of their shirts, a number of buildings tagged in Newcastle with the Adidas stripes for no reason, and possibly the clubs own merchandise sales falling because people would rather wait it out and get the Adidas stuff.

Both Lille & Osasuna were knocked out of Conference League tonight. That means there is a club less from both France and Spain to gain coefficient points this season, which would go towards getting an extra Champions League place. If we do finish in the top 2 of our group, it would mean that we gain some coefficient over at least 2/3 teams from France, Italy, and Germany, with 1 of those going out of Europe altogether.

Aye. In the space of 4 days he’s went from saying we are all deluded and think we are all world class, to our fans think we have a hard group so therefor Liverpool should qualify instead.

That’s a fair point, but my wider point is that I would say we would avoid playing on those actual dates, probably playing on the 28th, and 13th.

For what it’s worth, Sunderland are at home on the 4th October, 29th November, and the 12th of December, which are all Champions League dates. The first two of those dates are Wednesdays, and the other is a Tuesday. You would assume that the police would if possible want to avoid us playing at home the same week as Sunderland do, especially as they will all be massive games. It will depend on if that is possible with how we are tied with Arsenal and their commitments, and of course other commitments for the teams in our group. You would think at the very least though, our home games will not be on those actual dates.
