harper simpson colo Staylor enrique raylor guthrie/nolan smith jonas lovenkrands ameobi that 11 is good enough, look beyond that and theirs practically nothing. carrol and ranger are decent strickers, and geremi would be ok for a few games, but we simply dont have the strength in numbers or quality beyond the first team

looked quality when we played him. wouldnt be surprised to see a couple of sub standard loans and thats it

Cuts out before Kick off. Really?? Haven't listened to it before but it does say 'full live commentary' so would hope not. Makes it more annoying that my nufctv 'free online 2 month trial' voucher doesn't seem to work. you honestly expected from the club to actually be competent? -

i'm not that arsed about geremi, its the idea that he isnt even trying to improve the defence which has shown that they clearly are not good enough. With no Taylor and Coloccini its a bit difficult to be fair. None of the understudies would be able to handle this game. He's picked a midfield that can battle and get some decent delivery in the box. People talk about adding extra pace but the only two that add that in midfield are Lua-Lua and Vuckic. with simpson being particuarly abysmal at centre back i'd at least give kadar a try, at least hes a decent hight. Were we playing Ipswich at home I'd put him in there, but he's looked abit out of his depth in cup games only seen one cup game so couldnt say that much about him in the cup, but i'd be tempted to play pretty much anyone over simpson at cb, hes jsut not the right type All a result of Ashley's tight fistedness tbh. There were plenty of possible CB targets in the summer. aye, all the problems generally trickle down from the top, and certainly true with newcastle. -

Seems this way to me. Dunno if it's lack of confidence or just bad attitude. I hate to say it, but a Keegan-esque coach would probably help a lot at this time. they've just lost the ability to pass and move and seemed to go back to just booting it up the pitch and hope for the best, which simply hasnt and will not work. but i dont see what can be done about it, the midfield have been woefull the past few games but on paper its the only place where we have talent and if their not working then the team falls apart. i think already our team is looking way too thin and cracks are already starting to show, we had 3 right backs on the pitch on saturday,3 central midfielders ( although it was quite easy to forget about nolan) and 3 strikers, so we ended up with a team that had 4 people out of poistion ( as long as you allow Raylor to be called a right back) -
was a good servant to this club
