  1. Nagbe was decent last year but haven't seen much of him this season. I know Portland have been struggling. Has his form dipped?
  2. I'm with you. NigeriaShola is the only team I support on any level remaining in the tournament. The longer you deny your adoptive country (and weren't you fucking born here too?!), the longer they will continue to spite you. I was born here. I went to college here. I'm currently interning for the federal government. American big business will be paying my wages for the foreseeable future. Still can't bring myself to wholeheartedly support you for some reason Is it because we're shit? That didn't stop you supporting South Korea.
  3. Rafa Marques didn't get any of the ball. Therefore it wasn't a tackle, it was a foul. No one is complaining about contact on a tackle. But if you barge into someone, swipe at their legs, knick their ankles, etc without playing the ball then you're putting them at a disadvantage and slowing them down unfairly. Pen every day of the week. Utter bollocks. Utter bollocks that you have to play the ball? You're committed, I'll give you that.

  5. Not usually a massive fan of Robben but he's having a great world cup. Penalty was fair. Went down dramatically but you need to half the time or the ref won't give you anything. Watching the USA these past few weeks, players stay on their feet and don't get the ref's protection. Robben was fouled, twice in fact but he stayed on his feet for the first one, then made sure the ref saw it. I'm fine with that.
  6. I'm all for Americans getting into soccer. However the fact few people here know much about the sport, but Americans ABSOLUTELY MUST have an opinion on every thing, is fucking killing me. Yedlin comes on, gets forward, mishits his cross from the right, ball goes high and out for a goal kick. Dude in the bar shouts, "you suck! Why is he even shooting from there?" Every time the ref blows for something against the U.S.A., no matter how blatantly right he was, it's a "complete bullshit call." The only player on the field they've heard of is Dempsey, so all talk during slow periods is of getting the ball to him. These people are killing me. Deuce, Mike, etc get your house in order.
  7. Since when do players get paid for international duty anyway?
  8. Especially the one that sunk my grandad. The subaquatic cunt. Don't mention the war.
  9. He's just not an AM at this level. He can do the job against lesser teams, but he's not creative enough nor good at running at a defense. In a perfect world, we have a true creative player in that spot and Bradley sits deeper, pinging passes around. It'd be like Pirlo sitting behind Balotelli and running at the CBs from the top of the box. Not saying Bradley's on that level, but he's the closest thing we have to that kind of player. He does provide strong defense from that forward midfield spot though, which is important against a team like Germany, not letting them have enough time on the ball to generate attacks. Does need to do much better with his first touch, mind. Some inexcusable giveaways already. He's just completely lost the ability to pick out even the simplest pass. Beckerman is making him look like an amateur by comparison.
  10. If the playing surface was a little better this game would have had a couple of goals in it.
  11. Bradley has been the weak link for the USA pretty consistently this world cup. Bottling it in a big way.
  12. It was a good ball in. Shame about the lack of Nigerians attacking the ball. Emenike is looking pretty solid, too.
  13. These ads for Colombian Breaking Bad are making me doubt the quality of latin American television.
  14. As with Barton, I wouldn't have wanted him in the first place, but once he's a Newcastle player you just kind of have to be resigned to the fact. You support them when they play, you like them when they do something wonderful, and you just hope they don't do anything shitty while in your colours. When they inevitably do then you have to condemn it and hope they can turn over a new leaf (again). With Suarez it seems pretty obvious to me that he's not going to change. If it had been two biting incidents and a racism charge while a Newcastle player I'd have certainly wanted him sold. Just the racism charge alone would have been enough for me to stop supporting him.
