  1. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=666655&cc=5739 I didn't know Arsenal were in for him. I can't see that move being good for either party.
  2. Fair point. However, there are more of them in Italy (compared to over here).

  4. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=668033&cc=5739 Not a bad idea. Italian fans are generally cunts.
  5. It finished: Palmeiras 1 - 1 Botafogo A bit of a let down from Palmeiras who are still top of the league. Botafogo move up to 14th. I caught most of the second half. Botafogo were playing a flat back 10. Not the prettiest of games. Avaí 2 - 1 Nautico Good result for Avaí. They're doing well lately. Goals from Eltinho and Marquinhos. FM players will know they are both quality. Tonight's games: 20:00 UK Corinthians v Atlético MG 20:00 UK Sport v São Paulo - Should be good for some goals. 20:00 UK Gremio v Flamengo - Showing on bet365. 20:00 UK Fluminense FC v Coritiba FBC 20:00 UK Goiás v EC Vitória 22:30 UK At.Paranaense v Gremio Barueri 22:30 UK Cruzeiro v Santos FC
  6. Meh. The majority of managers are pally. It is probably Harry shit stirring but even if it's not I wouldn't be surprised.
  7. Just checking the materialism thread... I'm sure I've seen that jumper before. Probably Ash.
  8. What a load of bollocks, clearly don't have a f***ing clue Taylor = quick   One of the quickest players we have. Both in reactions and in an out-and-out sprint. Of course he isn't Usain Bolt but that's not the point I was making. Are you suggesting his pace is only on par with Sol Campbell?
  9. That's in the Premiership though, and most of that is down to getting done for pace. Given that the Championship is a step down with less pacey/skillful/intelligent players in it, Campbell's size, strength, heading ability and experience make him a pretty worthy gamble. In fact, I'd be suprised if Campbell's ability or even physique were a problem for us. I'd be more worried about injuries, because iirc he's had spells with Arsenal (prior to leaving) and Portsmouth where he's sturggled to get fit over somewhat long periods of time. If the management have half a brain on them, they'll make sure that any contract offered takes this into account, otherwise he could easily be no different to the dozens of leeches we've attracted in the past decade, players who've seen us as an easy and well paid final payday. That's exactly it. I have no doubt he can perform on his day. But how often is his day going to come? Injuries may keep him out... but also mentally he's not what we need. He's a brick shit house but he's a flaky brick shit house. We don't want another confidence player. We don't need another ageing big name. We don't need another former international. We need players that are on their way up and not on their way down. That's what got us here in the first place.
  10. Yeah, he's ambitious. That's why he left Arsenal for Pompey.
  11. Viduka was being paid in steak bakes.
  12. while cambells pace may be gone he still has one of the best defensive brains around which counts for a lot he could possibly bring a sense of organisation to the back line and also in set pieces which will be the main threat to our goals judging by last 2 games. He can also likely teach our other cbs a thing or two espicially our young guns like tozer and kadar and once hes done with football he could take up a coaching role Sol Campbell is not a defensive genius. Am I the only one to have watched MOTD over the last couple of years? He often gets the wrong side of players, flaps at well placed passes, puts his hands all over strikers etc. Sol was a great defender but that was mainly because he's a fucking tank. He's no Cannavaro.
  13. Spot on. His wage demands would be ASTRONOMICAL as well. Exactly. There's a reason why he's still available.
  14. Sol Campbell is a clumsy old donkey. He might be able to get by in the championship... but only until we meet a team with pace up front. Hang on to Taylor. He's quick, he's physical, he gets froward, and he plays his heart out for the shirt. He's the kind of player we want here long term. Sol Campbell would have been good on a free 2 or 3 years ago. I wouldn't touch him now, not even in the championship.
  15. Palmeiras 1 - 1 Botafogo Avaí 1 - 0 Nautico (should be a good game if you can find it showing.)
  16. I'd rather we got rid of the bad smell lingering around the place and started a fresh. After everything I don't think I'd enjoy seeing fat twat Ashley celebrating our promotion to the Premier League at some point in the future. He's clearly not honest, savvy, or honourable in any way whatsoever. I'd rather see the back of him completely.
  17. Shola has hired a look-a-like while he takes the day off. The look-a-like has scored twice.
