Loads of businesses pulling in the same direction can only be a good thing for the city. I've always maintained that I don't really care what happens to NUFC under the stewardship of PIF if they fail to invest in the city, whether directly or by proxy.

I think they're owned by Paul Blake (Esh Managing Director). He is essentially Mr. Newcastle Eagles, I doubt he'd turn down investment on the scale PIF could offer. I think the basketball and rugby investment is an incredibly easy win for PIF.

I highly doubt we're going to allow regular rugby matches at SJP. It would be good to see PIF invest in the rugby as well as the basketball. The BBL have just removed the salary cap as London Lions have had a lot of recent investment and they want to compete on a Euro level. It would be good to have a competitive team again as we're literally the shittest team in the league and have been ever since Fab left. The sky is the limit for the sport in the UK imo.

I think it's a great sign. We're no longer reliant on just Wilson, we're building a squad. If he's available it's a bonus and if he's not it's no longer going to be the end of the world. Same with ASM. At the start of next season we'll have more options than just him as our good left wing option.
