Isn't this old news? Still, what a ridiculous rumour. Was added to the clockwatch at 1:29pm so not sure!

"Football Editor: According to reports in the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Andy Carroll from Newcastle United and are prepared to offer David Bentley and Robbie Keane in exchange." Sky Sports transfer clockwatch...

Sessegnon was probably one of the best players in the Emirates Cup last year despite PSG doing rubbish, i'd certainly take him here in a shot!

We're getting the ball forward better now, but we just don't seem to know what to do once we get into the final third of the pitch! -

Shola has been walking around uninterested, get him off and get someone else on who's going to give it their all! Also, is anyone sick of that bitter scottish prick Souness yet? He's spent the entire time slagging Newcastle off, why do they even get him on the programmes?! I assume that's because everyone knows he's a fucking terrible manager and tv appearances are the best he can hope for in the future? -

Why the fuck do they always get that biased mackem bastard Don Goodman to comment on our games? Prick. -
Genuinely gutted by this. Despite the fact some people have gone a bit overboard with him so far, he is without doubt one of the most exciting players we've had in a long time, and now it looks like he has most likely pulled on our shirt for the last time.

Newcastle United v Blackpool - Sat 11th September (3pm)
Chrisjraby replied to Ishmael's topic in Football
There's no logic in dropping Williamson, and Routledge has been good so far, so I can't see why that would be the case (unless there are some injury concerns). If Carroll is ruled out, who will we start with up top? Surely we can't start Ameobi and Nolan, that would be madness! Given Blackpool's lack of pace (in comparison), it would be good to see something like the following: Routledge [centre midfielder] Barton Gutierrez Ben Arfa Lovenkrands -
I really like that kit, but it's going for silly money! I asked the club shop about that shirt about a month after it sold out and they said they had no plans to make any more, probably why they go for ridiculous money. I've watched a few on ebay go for over £50...

Perfect opportunity to play Xisco up front instead of on the bloody wing! -
I like the fact the Sky Sports page says he's Cameroonian, thought he was Ivorian myself! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_6325984,00.html

We desperately need a midfielder to link midfield to attack, last night we had absolutely nothing going forward other than hoping we could punt the ball in behind.
-
Nolan's looked so much better since dropping back, but why are we putting Xisco wide...again?
-
Perch is looking more of a liability as the game goes on, think he needs to work on his fitness!
-
Fucks sake man, why do we never pull the trigger
-
The high defence line is bloody dangerous
-
Get Nolan off already for fucks sake!
-
Do the shirts feel tighter than the Adidas ones? Whenever you see the international shirts (like during the ACoN for example) the shirts always look really tight, unless of course the players are wearing smaller sizes!

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Chrisjraby replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Does anyone else think that Carroll getting the number 9 shirt sort of indicates we may not be signing a new striker of a higher calibre? Don't get me wrong I think he deserves it, but it's just obvious that we could do with another higher profile striker for this season and perhaps given the history of the shirt it may provide a bit more of a lure? I don't know.
