The highlights that were posted on Facebook looked pretty promising! -

Looks like we may need to get a second left back in then!
-
Tiote likes time on the ball, didn't see him struggle with it in his first premier league season...
-
Was on the Sky Sports clockwatch thing so i'm guessing it's the page where any old retard can post their "itk" information!

12:41 News: The Rumour Room is hotting up again. Latest links include Owen Hargreaves heading for Newcastle Looks like we've lined up a replacement for Big Cheik...
-
Anyone else been really disappointed with the tournament so far? Was expecting much more to be honest!
-
Long's goalscoring record before last season doesn't really set the world alight, shouldn't we be looking for players that are more prolific? Although I suppose you can argue that Ba's record is pretty sound.
-
Would've been a good signing quite some years ago, now however, definitely not.
-
It's all well and good saying that we're put off by the fee and wages, but if we WERE in for Gervinho, he would've probably cost the same if not more. For me, N'Zogbia would always have been a better choice than Gervinho, and if we were interested in him for that money then there's no reason we shouldn't spend the same on N'Zogbia. I agree with keeping the salary cap in place for some first teamers and the squad players, but to get the players that are going to take your team to the next level, you're going to have to be willing to break that cap (Ben Arfa, Tiote, Coloccini)! I don't necessarily agree that N'Zogbia deserves that sort of money, but even negotiating him down a little bit puts him on par with salaries we've just cut like Nolan, Campbell and other potential departures (Smith, fingers crossed), surely it's not beyond us to work out a deal if we are genuinely interested?

Not sure if this has been posted already but... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Newcastle-boss-Alan-Pardew-Hatem-Ben-Arfa-and-Dan-Gosling-will-be-like-new-signings-article754153.html We all knew it was coming! Edit: Not being funny but wasn't Marveaux injured all last season making the following totally incorrect: "Marveaux has impressed and, because of his contract situation, he didn't play a lot last season, but that means he comes to us fresh. We think there is a lot to come from him."
-
Leeds are apparently requesting 8, according to an article about them refusing offers from Norwich! I suppose they need all the money they can get to cover Smiths wages... Almost makes us taking Snodgrass off them worthwhile!
-
Bloke at work claims he's read that we're supposed to have bid £7 Million for Snodgrass from Leeds, but a search online has come up with nothing! Hopefully it's bollocks though; he's a decent player but definitely not worth it for that price.
-
Marveaux is still a pretty unknown quantity, I certainly wouldn't drop Jonas for him at this moment in time!
-
Gibson is pretty much a poor man's Huddlestone, which says a lot.
-
Better late than never!
-
Has he ever played out wide like Barton did for us this season? I wonder whether we consider him to be the kind of player that can cover anywhere in midfield or behind the striker, which is why we're interested.
-
Looking forward to this, shame Jonas and Colo didn't get included in the Argie squad though!
-
I think Guthrie's main problem is that he wants too much time on the ball; in the championship he was allowed the freedom to hold on to it for longer and pick a pass, but in the premiership you just don't get that luxury (as we've found out to our cost, West Brom being a perfect example). That said, I think he did well in the Wolves home game, but against teams like that he should be comfortable.
-
I didn't think it'd be possible to hate anyone's contribution to this club more than Michael Owen's, but this guy comes fucking close!
-
It's encouraging that we were willing to cough up the fee (if true), but would he deserve £60k a week? Surely if he REALLY wants to come back here that much we could negotiate that down a bit? Even if it goes down to 50k it would be great business for us!
-
That article says we also want to sell Colo...
-
Honduras spent the whole second half basically trying to get Costa Rican players sent off by feigning injury, then for the entire of injury time they basically time-wasted to get through to penalties (as their players were far more tired than the Costa Ricans). The stand out moment was a Honduran player (think it was Portillo) wanting to shake a Costa Rican's hand right in front of the ref, the Costa Rican player slapped his hand away and he went down holding his face and did about 10 rolls. The ref ended up booking Portillo for that, but he did it another 2-3 times before that and was lucky to even still be on the pitch!
-
Did anyone watch the Costa Rica vs. Honduras match? The unsportsmanlike behaviour from Honduras was unbelievable, was genuinely gutted to see them go through.
-
I guess now we've managed one attack we'll go back to fannying around again!
