http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Burnley-transfer-news-Clarets-set-to-snap-up-Newcastle-keeper-Fraser-Forster-article530015.html "Burnley boss Brian Laws will finally clinch a move for Newcastle United keeper Fraser Forster this week - as Chris Hughton ties up Dutch shot-stopper Tim Krul on a new deal. Forster has met the Clarets and sorted out a one-year loan deal, but he had to wait until the Toon Army made sure that reserve Krul would not be leaving. Hughton is happy to run with Krul as cover for experienced Steve Harper - and Forster will be allowed to go and improve his football education at Turf Moor."

Said on Sky Sports earlier there were rumours of us wanting Gary Hooper for 2.5 million...
-
Anyone know what wages he's on?

Forster came 2nd in the player of the season to Grant Holt, but he did win the League 1 Keeper of Year (whatever its called).

The sponsor looks fucking terrible

To spend that much on those kits you would need to be mad... We're probably the only club that could flog shit like that for that price!
-
Do we keep the away kit for 2 years and the third kit for 1? Here's to hoping the home shirt looks a hell of a lot better than these...

Taken from Sky Sports: "No Boyd move The 51-year-old also dismissed any links with Rangers striker Kris Boyd, who is set to leave Glasgow in search of a new challenge this summer. But Hughton did not rule out the possibility of moving for the 26-year-old in the future, admitting that he did have admiration for the player, who is a boyhood Newcastle fan. "Kris Boyd is a good player, but I can categorically say that there have been no talks at this stage," Hughton added. "You never want to say 100% no, but it's a non-starter at this moment." "

Forster once again linked to Norwich next year. It would be nice just to see some actual concrete interest in some players coming into the club, it's been over a month since the end of the season and as usual we don't seem to have made any progress! I suppose we'll do what we always do and panic within the last couple of days before the deadline and sign any dross we can get for next to nothing (or in this case, actually nothing!)

Exactly, we can take a punt on a freebie and if he's crap, his reputation in Scotland will probably be enough to take him up there for a fee!

Happy enough with that lineup, but can't help but think why isn't Krul getting a few games now? We already know he's good enough, so it's not a gamble to stick him in. -
Newcastle promoted to the Premier League - now, LET'S PARTY!

Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
Chrisjraby replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
If we can keep him and Jonas fit, we look a completely different team! When we use the wings and the full backs overlap, we look really dangerous, but when we play through the centre (mainly away from home), we look clueless. Only thing that frustrated me about Routledge yesterday was the amount of times he slipped over! Players usually have multiple pairs of boots to suit the conditions, so I was surprised he didn't change his during the game. -

I haven't heard him say one positive thing about us yet. He seems to be too busy wanking over 11-men-behind-the-ball football -

We look absolutely awful so far. Bristol are clearly set up to stop us playing wide, so we're gona be relying on best and carroll down the middle. Doesn't bode well so far after seeing Best... -
How the fuck do WBA get so many penalties? Crazy

"65min - NEWCASTLE MISS PEN: Joey Barton looks to mark his comeback with a goal but fails to hit the target when his cheeky dink from the spot floats over the crossbar." Months out, and he's cocky enough to attempt a chipped penalty, dear me!

Still don't understand how Vidic didnt go, but Collins got booked. Fucking double standards as usual.

Newcastle United Vs Preston North End - Saturday 20th Feb -3 pm KO
Chrisjraby replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
I think in the last few games Guthrie has proven he's better in the centre than out wide, so why would Hughton change it to accomodate Smith when, as people have said, we have Raylor and Pancake on the bench. It's the kind of tactical decision that could cost us a game.
