his instinct for what position to be in is reasonably good but I'll always question his ability to be a consistent goalscorer but I'll be quite happy to be proven wrong

Willo was pretty solid most of that year too. Shola and a monumental couple matches as well (Spurs & Man Utd spring to mind). Shola and Ba tore man utd apart in the 3-0 up here iirc one of the goals was just a punt downfield by krul and shola knocked it on to ba Yep Shola out jumped Evans and Ba made Ferdinand look silly. Such a simple thing but it wouldn't happen with someone like Cisse playing. for some reason beyond my understanding I always love to see goals like that, maybe just because it usually means a cb or 2 has screwed up hilariously

Was something like his 4th foul in 30 minutes tbf. he's learning then, usually he gets booked after 2 fouls. He actually does seem to have learned to keep himself in check to a point considering he only has 3 yellows so far
-
also loved the casual way he completely blew Ridgewell out of his way in the first half, absolute beast

playing for a move or for a place in the french starting 11 for France take your pick either way I'm not complaining
-
perhaps but considering the crap he's pulled he has no right to criticize anyone else

Ronaldo and Messi are two freaks of nature and it's not as if their goal tallies are what you would expect, they're so far ahead of everybody else over the last few years it is insane. That's why the amount of goals gets lauded and so it should as well. Agreed, the only problem i have with it is when its lauded more than winning trophies.... that's when i draw the line. Scoring loads of goals is great but if you don't win trophies with it then what is it really? Trophies are the be all and end all at the very top and if you don't get that then the praise you get for scoring should be lower personally. That's how i feel though, i'd praise winning the CL than scoring loads and winning nothing. if your reffering to the Balon D'or then the sheer brilliance of the individual should be the key judgement after all Ronaldo on a performance level has clearly been better than Ribery while good and won numerous trophys it was much more a team performance from Bayern than it being down to how brilliant Ribery was

Have to disagree. Very good in the championship. Good in his first 2 years in the prem. Tragically bad last season to the point where his manager simply referred to him as "the other guy" . Now he's sort of back to how he was in the 5th placed season. this, he did after all play most of the season in the 5th place season and our strongest point in that season was defending. Getting to the stage if he keeps this up that Hodsgon will have to have a look given theres not many english cbs atm

yup plus one on new years day -
impressive performance and laid off some lovely passes for others to get onto, ok most of the time it didn't work out but thats not Shola's fault
-
his performances on the right have been most impressive and the best thing is while he's capable of causing any left back problems he can also help out in the centre of midfield
-
karma from the many games of being well Shola?
-
Lovely that by Shola
-
not the most entertaining of halfs but we're looking decent
-
really should have been a foul and a red
-
clearest foul ever but Dowd misses it.......what a surprise
-
one has a reputation the other doesn't
-
performing like a better version of Jonas at present, same work rate but with some end product hope he keeps it up
-
He is, but for the wrong reasons. at least its always interesting
