Listen man, if a player leaves the club, YOUR club, the club you love, the club you put time and money into all year every year, simply because someone else is offering him more cash you cant just expect fans to think nothing of it. The whole 'well if i got offered more money in a new job i'd take it' argument is a total irrelevance due to the difference in World normal people and footballers live in. Rightly or wrongly people will feel aggrieved because ultimately fans want the players to want to play for the club for us, not for money. That's probably the sentimental side of it. In the real world, none of our players (except Shola and Taylor maybe) wouldn't even play for us if we hadn't offered them a better deal than they were on at their previous club. Why do you think players like Anita, Debuchy and Cabaye are even here, whilst they could have continued to represent the club that brought them through and that the probably have genuine feelings for? In the same vein, why do you expect these mercenaries who left their clubs for us, to decline better offers when they are available, to stay at a club like ours, without ambition to even compete and unwilling to pay the going rate. We are a stepping stone of a club, lucky to be in (one of) the most prestigious football leagues in the world, and that's exactly how our owner wants it. Blame him, not the players who are being traded in this system, not only to better their own career, but also to further our (owner's) interests. Specifically looking at the Demba Ba case, he came in for free, left for 7.5 million, probably earned less than that in wages in his time here and scored a shitload. How anybody could brand him a mercenary who only looked after his own interest is quite frankly staggering. What does that make our club? I'm not blaming anyone. I'm not really bothered. I'm just pointing out some of the reasons why people may be upset. With Ba specifically, I thought it was the attitude of him and his entourage that left a bitter taste in the mouth. Getting 'his big move' . But thats just me. its the "entourage" that really bugs me why is there a need for numerous agents amd hangers on who demand compensation for moving him around and is probably the main reason why Ba to return is a complete non starter, think the club had enough of dealing with them last time. Cheaper tickets, surely. Must be mostly that. We did have a UEFA run in the 2006/2007 season, and didn't in 2011/2012 but that's only going to explain a minor part of it. Generally matchday income has been lower under Ashley, I haven't checked this out but I'd be surprised if there has been a drop in attendance of the size that would explain that sort of fall in revenue. So I think it can only be down to those that do go to matches paying less to do so. Anyone got any other theories? I seem to recall something about the family section being increased in size and obviously that would be lower priced tickets. Also would imagine prices for corporate boxes and other fancy seats would have been lowered to get people into them.

its not exactly as if we're bad at them as is anyway. And the sooner that clown Delaney is sacked the better. All that money wasted on the managers position but nothing to tackle the real problems at the grassroots level or with the league (the winners get less prize money than Delaney gets paid per year)

dunno he was in the team for most of the season in the 5th place season after Taylor got injured and I wouldn't say we shipped goals hand over fist then. Fact is as it stands I'd trust Williamson to be more solid than any of the rest of our cbs as it stands, MYM is still adapting and its hard to fully trust him after seeing him run away from the ball vs Everton, Colo hasn't looked right since he tried to get away and he's picking up injuries more and more often, Taylor is well Taylor a decent enough premier league cb mostly but with a severe tendency to do something completely daft and prone to injury. Maybe MYM will get more trustworthy as the season goes on and who knows Taylor may stay fit for a while but until then Williamson will do nicely.

Bony really doesn't seem suited at all to Swansea and is looking rather like a large waste of money

overall we're doing okay, hopefully the form will settle to more consistent performances like yesterdays as opposed to last weeks. Right now I'd say were on for 8th to 12th depending but if we actually had someone in charge of transfers who had a braincell we'd be looking for a new striker and wide player and if we got those I'd feel a lot more confident about an outside chance of pushing for Europe.
