  1. agree with this pretty much, its good we're at least getting some kind of story however it is only one side of the story and the premier league thus far aren't saying much so its going uncontested. I have a few doubts about her version of events regarding the PL as via Caulkin she was saying no red flags etc etc when there was at least two very large red flags in the proposed structure for the board and the beoutq issue. Hopefully somebody will get some story from the premier league so we can at least hear their version of events and compare and contrast the differences
  2. the premier league is accountable to their member clubs and to a very limited extent the FA
  3. to keep the club in the premier league to maintain the price at an acceptable level to mike ashley?
  4. But now not making a decision is potentially going to cost the PL a minimum of £17m. How's that? Ashley gets the 17m deposit, not them The PL's actions, or lack of them, have caused the consortium to lose the £17m deposit. They would've got it back if they'd refused the test. So they will have a case to take the PL to court to recover that money as an absolute minimum. problem is I can't see a legal case having any legs on the basis of they weren't prompt enough when the PL made clear there is no time limit
  5. well given the Wigan fiasco (approved by EFL then Admin literally a month later) the EFL test is clearly faulty
  6. pretty much more of the same, no issue with ashley and according to her the premier league saying the ultimate beneficial owner of nufc would be the state of saudi arabia so they wanted them as a director
  7. He can only report what he’s told and he was told the buyers were given private assurances it was getting passed now whether that was complete horse shit being fed to him or not is another matter. Personally I have severe doubts that they were ever given private assurances on it getting passed when there was the clear red flag from day one of beoutq which anyone with half a brain cell could see would pose an issue.
  8. So the issue is that PIF is not independent enough from the Saudi State? While that is true, wouldn't the same apply to Manchester City and UAE? Don't really see how our situation is different from theirs. no expert but with City there appears to be enough of a polite fiction thats its privately owned by Sheikh Mansour as an individual (and he's not the ruler after all) which while complete bollocks is just enough bollocks to get away with it clearly whereas with this its kinda hard to have a polite fiction that is not KSA calling the shots when its the public investment fund of saudi arabia and their chairman is literally the heir to the throne.
  9. PL officials were just representing the interests of their other member clubs, and obviously felt that an NUFC with such powerful backing was not good for those other clubs. Although they were never going to openly say it. or the simpler non conspiracy theory explanation they were worried about future tv deals from bein with regards to the beoutq issue.
  10. curious to see if the premier league will have their own briefings in the press in the next few days, all we've heard so far is the Stavely and co camps view on things which while informative is only half the story. Anything from Ashleys pov is pointless as he appears to be a negligible to non factor in this failing
  11. Haha. Lawyer up, bitches. This is going to be good. don't think they'd be this loud in statements if they were preparing a legal case
  12. they don't have the piracy issue which is ultimately what sunk this and sad as it is the human rights abuses, yemen etc were never a factor
  13. Staveley never mentioned Ashley though. She lays the blame firmly at the door of the PL and "other clubs". So I'm not sure I believe this above statement. If she wants to come back again as was mentioned earlier she may not want to piss off Ashley but she's perfectly okay blaming the premier league who she'd need approval from and to deal with if she got the club anyway?
  14. So does that mean the Ruebens and Staveley also led everyone down the garden path? People can't handle the possibility of this being the case, but who knows.. I'm just curious as to why the Reubens needed a saudi consortium to buy the club, according to the rich list they have a value of £16b odd so why not just buy it themselves if they really wanted to get involved in a pl club
  15. Interesting. Thanks for the info. I can't imagine he'd risk the Saudi deal without some sort of insurance. My guess would be that Qatar have given Mauriss the money to cover the deposit. Everybody on here seems assured Maauriss would fail the O+D test, so you'd imagine the guys with the supposed millions to bak him would be just as clued up. There is every chance Ashley is aware of this, through his connection to the hairy hand. Is there any evidence that Qatar and Mauriss are linked? nothing beyond conspiracy theories
  16. been wondering if thats the case myself. Personally I think if Ashley had fucked it up why wouldn't they say that, no reason not to after all
  17. I dare say they might have mentioned that in any statement if that were true
  18. problem is it would require 14/20 clubs agreeing to that and why would they close the door on potential boat load of money for themselves from a country buying it off them
  19. don't think so personally, the piracy thing was too big an issue to ignore
