  1. well yes £500m the single largest rights deal outside the uk. Of coarse they don't want to annoy one of their biggest tv partners thats really not a good way to do business
  2. They'll have to get it legally watertight to accept or reject the deal. I'd imagine they are shitting themselves realising their test wasn't fit for purpose and was really just for show. at the same time how incompetent do you have to be to be on the verge of somehow failing the fit and proper person test there's literally only one way they could fail it and somehow they're making it worse for themselves by banning bein sports making it so that the prospective owners have no legal way to watch their own club on tv in SA
  3. while this idea would obviously be utter chaos I can't help but like this idea, majority of the league seems to just exist to keep cashing in the tv money now making no real effort to improve
  4. come on villa (just to relegate watford)
  5. basically this is years of payback for KSA ignoring the beoutq stuff and blocking any attempt to deal with it in a saudi court and nufc are the club caught in limbo in a geopolitical shitshow. This is why countries should not be allowed near fucking football clubs
  6. It's not a company from SA it's SA. The PL themselves described PIF as a company in SA like. whose chairman happens to be the crown prince of saudi arabia (and as far as I understand he's been making more and more decisions for the country the last few years) and its literally the public investment fund of saudi arabia how the hell can it not be considered an arm of the KSA goverment I know and you know it's the state. It doesn't necessarily follow that's the case legally. I'm just baffled by the very idea, they get all their funding from the KSA government, their chairman is in line to be the next king and is already pretty influential at the very least, its sole purpose is to make investments on behalf of the KSA and its somehow not legally considered the state

  8. If PIF tries to take over the clubs you mentioned, it takes days - not weeks or months - for the PL to sign off on it. We're just plucky ol' Newcastle. Fuck us. no it would take as long because the same issues are in play regarding the piracy. Its not a fucking conspiracy theory to keep newcastle down
  9. why exactly was he sacked from Leicester? Just because of his son being a racist asshole which seems a bit ott though I suppose it worked out well enough for them
  10. one of those things that had to be sorted regardless doesn't say anything about the takeover beyond its taking way longer than anyone expected
  11. no ballon d'or this year for some reason
  12. Also relying on Villa or Bournemouth getting 0 points in order to stay up is a very risky prospect when Bournemouth have Everton and Villa have West Ham, very possible for one (or both) to win those games
  13. Then just wait 8 days, you can have all that lined up and ready to go then. As for West Ham, why? Moyes came in got them safe mostly thanks to some good signings in Jan he was the one pushing for and they already tried the sack the dour british manager "to go to the next level" and ended up in enough of a mess to go crawling back to Moyes saying please bail us out again. West Ham need some stability and foundations laid before they look to improve.
  14. surely something would have been leaked about that with the sacking news if that was the case
  15. the fuck, apart from the west ham game they've been doing reasonably well since restart and were on an upwards trajectory before lockdown hell they were the first side to beat Liverpool this season and the thanks he gets is the boot? Really hope they go down now
  16. what are the odds west ham sack moyes again after tonight now he it looks like he has them safe?
  17. too far out to really say anything, will all depend on how things are then
  18. can't really with the euros as a hard deadline to finish the season
  19. I’d imagine the seasons are going to be condensed so similar format to last few months. Long term if we return to the normal fixture routine they’ve sure got to revert but you know what FIFA are like. basically this, seasons are starting late and most of the big european leagues having a fairly limited pre-season (especially if your still in the Champions League) and have to finish in enough time for the euros etc to take place. It'll probably lead to a lot of injuries so presumably 5 subs might help mitigate that to some extent though obviously it majorly favors Man Utd/City etc compared to everyone 8th and below
  20. 5 subs extended into next season
  21. Why would it be fucked? It literally says in the next line it shouldn't affect the the takeover. thats what they think but assuming its stavely and co briefing Taylor its also the same lot who were saying "no red flags"; they're either not that bright, self delusional to an extreme or just throw random bs at journalists to keep them happy.
  22. education is the only answer especially in this case as its a bloody kid. Hopefully in 10-20 years he'll look back at this and completely cringe at his behavior
  23. How? Don't see how the PL would be happy with this If they are getting rid of piracy and then getting new investment with a new deal, then I would say they would be happy with that. But they can’t legally get a new deal until the end of next season. Not if they have legally extracted their country from the regional territory, we can't comment on the legalities as we don't know them. Going to have to wait for more information to come out. Surely Bein can't pay the PL for rights for the whole region and then half way through the contract, suddenly the PL sell rights for one of those countries to a different network? It might have no bearing on the takeover but I can't see it being a positive t sounds like a textbook breach of contract which would cost the prem a lot more than they'd get from selling rights to SA on its own next season
