  1. some talent yes, effort no. You'd think his far superior technical ability would shine through against a league 2 side regardless of whether he likes playing on the wing or not. Fact is I've yet to see anything on any sort of consistent basis that show's why he's worth all the praise he gets on here. Flashe's here and there aren't enough.

We were playing Morecambe though, who finished 16th in League 2 last year and are 19th now. You'll get a very different picture if he starts on Saturday. he also looked a damn sight more effective than what we had on the left when he came on vs West Ham. As I've said I'm prepared to give him a go and would like to see him get a good run in the 1st team, how else is he going to improve?
  3. my choices were Raylor Sameobi and Colo, I stand by those as the likeable ones including new mental colo. Jonas in a respectable 4th place for me as he's not the most talented footballer we have but if the rest had half his heart or work rate we'd be a lot better off.
  4. hell playing full back for a bit is probably not the worst way to let him get used to the pace of the league where theres less of a chance a mistake will lead to a goal compared to cb. The guys clearly talented I'm just not sure him and Colo are the ideal pairing against some of the more aerially dominant strikers. Had it been Carroll instead of Maiga last sat I'd say we'd have lost.
  5. strikes me more at least last jan they just got carried away with the relative success of 1 signing from France (Cabaye) and went mental, the rest of our signings from France have been mixed at best, downright awful at worst. I seriously don't get why we can't/won't sign players playing in England (Remy doesn't count because we wanted him from France 6 months ago), I understand signing directly from a Premier League side can be expensive and you have to overpay to get anyone good otherwise why would they sell him but lower league? I refuse to believe theres no value down there that isn't worth taking a punt on. Hell some of our more successful recent signings have been english based, Simpson whatever peoples criticism of him was a reliable rb we got on the cheap and looked a hell of a lot better than Debuchy has thus far, Perch was a great squad player and I don't get at all why we sold him. Hell even Williamson for what he cost has provided reasonably good service to us. Its a big oversight which will only cost us in the long term and we've missed out already (Redmond for £2m is an absolute steal)
  6. didn't most of the Falcao money go to 3rd party agents?
  7. considering anyone outside of france can grab him for nowt in the next window (admittedly to move in jan) that he'd try and get what he can now for a player they won't play until he signs a contract and he doesn't plan to do so and they've lost the CL cash which they probably budgeted for. Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face line of thinking from Aulas he's trying to act as if he's in a position of strength when its the exact opposite.
  8. Don't they just collate more reputable French media outlets rather than break news themselves? from what I've seenthey collate all French media outlets reputable and not so much. So take with a silo full of salt
  9. Baines I'd call their best player and they really need to hold onto him, Fellaini is a different case as I'm not really sure he's the type of player Martinez wants and if (without saying it) he'd rather sell Fellaini for max value to go get McCarthy instead
  10. so basically what everyone thought came to pass, Arsenal are too cheap to pay our asking price for a player they never really needed in the first place but are quite happy to completely unsettle him and cause him to miss 2 games (1 of which against a side they supposedly want to compete with in theory).
  11. while they bank 80m odd meaning a low enough net spend....... Levy is a bloody bandit
