37 seems optimistic when there are so many teams he himself says we can't compete with. Not sure adding Downing = improved considerably if i'm honest. gives them in theory 2 good crossers of the ball on either wing with Jarvis and with Nolan to pick up the scraps from loose defending as we know full well he can they are a dangerous side. Limited in overall scope but I have no doubt it will be effective.
2. I must be watching a different game because i didn't see any long balls what so ever. Problem is that Cisse couldn't deal with the ball on the ground either and loss possession if the wind was slightly going in his direction. Not to mention he's incapable of running in behind or linking the play, so makes him pretty much useless in our current set up. been half thinking he's part of the problem, back in the 5th place season sure when he was on fire everything he touched went in but that appears to just have been a purple patch and has gotten nowhere near that form since, and with his inability to do anything a lone striker needs to do in this day and age other than apply the finish that leaves us with basically 10 men for a lot of the game. Compare to Ba who could hold it up and bring others into play and genuinely fit the team a lot better. That said the lack of any kind of assistance from midfield doesn't help.

Good point but i'd rather a manager stood up to owners than let himself get bummed. Ashley wouldn't appoint Poyet if he stands up for himself. or anyone else who would object to the current transfer policy so that narrows it down to who? who the hell would work under these restraints because I sure as hell can't see Poyet doing it Poyet's out of work, why wouldn't he come? The question is would Ashley want him? Considering he's suing his former club for wrongful dismissal, probably not. So I guess we'll just keep fiddling on with a scout in France and a manager from the 1990's. because he could wait and get a better job elsewhere, he won't be short of offers when sacking season begins. Wouldn't be too sure of that like. a championship club would be a better job than here so he won't be short of better offers

8. If he'd rather waste a year of his career and miss his last opportunity to play at a World Cup so he can get a bigger signing on fee next summer then his attitude is appalling. fair point but I can see his point of view wanting to screw over Aulas after he was messed around because Aulas wanted other people to pay clauses he was supposed to
9. only discovered it a few years ago myself in my defense I was young at the time he did own it Oh what a shame, you missed out on Sugar's Klinsman hissy fit, on footy foucs where he chucks Kilnsmans shirt at the reporter. he what?! I know now in retrospect he wasn't happy but that?!
10. because theres the threat that Ashley may have to spend cash that way?

No one then quite frankly he's the only one I could see taking it since every other scenario involves working under JFK and that seems like a dealbreaker to me

13. and that is truely insane when he's their best player.
14. fucking ridiculous and solely designed to stop Spurs getting him rather than actually wanting or needing him themselves. The sooner Abramovich fucks off and lets chelsea crash and burn the happier I'll be

Of course it's going to happen. Probably not as soon as we would like, but his sheer incompetence means it's inevitable. We might not get a better manager you say? It would be pretty hard to avoid it IMO. really? what manager better than Pardew will agree to work under JFK as DOF (and thats best case scenario) where he has no say whatsoever in the signing of players, where players will be sold underneath him and not replaced. Where we only bloody shop in the french league.

this, is there honestly still anyone on here who doesn't believe he deserves the sack based purely on his performance over the last year? i know brett is one but is there anyone else? would love to see a poll like I can think of 3 who? inochi, ian w, brett? i don't think ian w and inochi would keep the fella like they just seem to revel in being contrary (might be wrong)....someone else is a bit pro-pards, happy face? I'm willing to cut him a lot more slack because of the long reasons I got into a few pages ago (stream of consciousness just came out) and a genuine belief that he is a good manager that gif is hypnotic. And yes I do believe all the ashley bullshit he has to put up with is a good manager who did underperform last year but under extenuating circumstances which would give most managers trouble. Will he get the chance to turn it around to prove he's good here? Probably not can't see him lasting until even October with his replacement already hanging around making a fool of himself
17. That's how it's looking. good for him and just what Aulas deserves
18. don't be silly that would involve doing as Pardew asked and going for a domestically trained player and Ashley can't have that
19. so basically because of Aulas's fuckery and dicking him around Gomis has decided to say fuck you your not getting £8m for me I'm going to sit out my contract and get the massive cash bonus myself

Other than that he's great This has been my postion from day one. I refuse to accept this vile cunt as a "real manager". He engineered himself the job whilst Hughton was still in positon ( I firmly believe this), got it because of social connections with board members and not due to any football reasons at all. He took the postion to be the fall guy for Ashley et all, knowing he was gonna be well recompensed and that this is his last gig. He accepted form day one his position as toad of toad hall and gives not two hoots about NUFC. Aspects of which have been repeated with the idiot and buffoon that is Kinnear being appointed by our glorious leader. He is a spineless, feckless, coniving, lying, toadying vile piece of human shit. imo. In fact these attributes fit nicely with all of the glorious triumverate at our club. not to be a spoilsport but that happens all the time everywhere, clubs thinking of sacking someone sound out their potential replacements before they sack him so as to have a nice smooth quick transition of power
22. shame, thought he'd have been sold by now tbh, seems nowhere near the first team

Santons the best defender of the 3 of them and he's had several brain dead moments which have cost us. Haidara's a kid and still learning and Debuchy the seasoned pro the french international rb has demonstrated no knowledge of defending at all. Not even a hint of it. In fact has demonstrated more of an ability to gift the opposition chances or penalties. He should not need a manager to hold his hand and tell him not to lunge or take risky chances near our box. Tiote shouldn't need a manager to tell him not to recklessly tackle the opposition, Cisse shouldn't need someone to teach him the basics of the offside rule. They should know this stuff already, many of them are internationals they're all highly paid professionals they should have the basic desire to learn to cut out these school boy errors without someone needing to hold their hand and tell them exactly what to do. Again, I would say this is removing the context and isolating them from one another unrealistically. All those players are being stretched into doing unnatural things, venturing into areas they don't really belong, trying to do too much, or taking on rules unsuited to their skillsets... and it impacts on their ability to do the basics in their 'orthodox' roles. Santon is the best example I can see of this from last season, but I think it's true of most of the team to varying extents. Santon was palpably frustrated by the static/easily-telegraphed "attacking strategy" ahead of him, so he went forward enthusiastically, but recklessly - leaving us exposed. We went chasing games and it just got worse and worse, and he got more and more despondent (or at least so it seemed). I think it's one of those things where I don't think we'll ever really gauge how good the squad is/isn't. Part of them being stretched into doing things they'd rather not do is to do with the whole squad makeup, Cisse has to venture outside the box to try to hold up the ball because there is literally no one else to do it, had he a strike partner who could do what Edin Dzeko did to us on Monday and help create chances for Cisse then I'd have very little to say about him. But the only option for that is Shola and well............. Part of the problem for our attacking strategy is a serious lack of width and none of our central midfields natural game is to get up and support the striker. HBA is the closest to the width but he cuts inside with the best of them which is fine it can work but some games you do need to stretch defenses with pace and width and we just have nobody to do it. You can see Pardew's knows about these problems too with the attempt to play sissoko off cisse which was worth a try but really its not his game. Cabaye has been touted by some for that but imho he's best deep playing alongside someone like Tiote (or potentially Sissoko) helping to sweep up in front of defense and spraying balls from deep. I'm not saying Pardew's completely blameless here far from it he's made stupid mistakes and our awful set pieces (which are his department above all else) is a big demonstration of that, but some here believe all would be well if we just sacked Pardew and got someone else in while I'm of the opinion that the deep rooted problems of squad imbalance, complete lack of vision and clear thought in transfer policy beyond cheap and resale and the just supreme chaos of the Ashley regime just won't go away that easily and will cause as much problem for Pardew's eventual successor as it is to him right now. (also not trying to beat down on Santon, I do honestly rate and like him but he still has a ways to go one of which is cut out the stupid mistakes in defense now, I'd give him a lot more room for error than I would Debuchy on age alone)
