Stoke City vs. Newcastle United - 28/11/12 @ 7.45pm (No TV)

delusion which we all suffer from -
tbh judging him on how he played for City can be misleading. At City there are multiple threats to deal with so hard to deliberately crowd him out of the game like we did to him in the derby because if you do that then suddenly Silva or Nasri or Aguero (etc) are suddenly freer to do as they feel like. Now hes at a club where the opposition will target him to shut down the sunderland attack and they don't have the players around who can do something with the extra space (Fletcher in theory can but he needs supply and with Johnson out of the game the main danger of someone getting the ball to him drastically reduces what he can do) Its his first time playing regularly in an average at best side for the division. At Boro he only started playing regularly in the championship where they were (until strachan came along) one of the better sides in the division and he was clearly too good for the level of opposition. City he wasn't regular and surrounded by great players, makes your life a bit easier to look good.

I'd take an obnoxious amount of delight if we managed to score a set piece tonight against stoke of all teams

Don't have the same feeling of impending doom that the relegation season had, 2

Just shown him at the ground Your ITK is weak son! just going what I read off twitter (hence the apparently)
-
Could see him going to QPR. Although not sure what his relationship with Redknapp is like. can't be good tbh, Liverpools my guess
-
Bents apparently stormed out of Villa park after not been named in match day squad
-
while in theory quite right he's been punished it seems a bit ridiculous he's been punished because of the non punishments UEFA delivers out on things like racist chanting from all over the place Lazio got hit with a €40k fine for racist chanting at White Hart Lane from their fans for example which is no punishment at all. And has any actual rule been broken?
-
new manager bounce for QPR surely

arguably only City and Man Utd really have it, chelsea almost have it except for nothing to properly replace Torres
-
or just the period between the end of our unbeaten run and the man u 3-0 because we were dogshit then

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a254/TUS/Gifs/maradona.gif 10 in 18 so far. the amusing thing is some in the media believe he'd just up sticks to QPR because Redknapps there (and that avb hasn't a clue obviously and he must be unhappy working for such an incompetent)

Now about time I offered my opinion, my opinion remains no he should not be sacked for a few reasons; no 1 we've tried that before it doesn't work except in the extreme short term. no 2 the injuries and suspensions are a contributing factor to the poor form, not the whole story obviously but we've been struggling with injuries to key players all season and that will take its toll on any side. no 3 the one thing I would like to wait and see is how our form changes once the group stage of the Europa League is done, I've been saying it for a while but while we're changing our side for more or less every game its having an effect, not on the fitness per se but on the preparation Pardew like to put in, I recall reading plenty of articles (especially from the mackem bitch in the guardian) where he puts in detailed information to our players on the opposition we're facing, now thats easier to do when you have a full week of training to drill it in their head, harder to pull off when your working thursday to sunday. So I think the form and performances will pick up by quite a bit when not under that constraint. Overall though he's earned a shot at fixing the problems that are there atm for his excellent work last season, we have to believe he can turn this around and that is just a blip being exacerbated by injuries

I'd hardly call the last one a shambles tbh and the shambles of the one before didn't hurt us
-
lovely goal by Defoe
-
actual research for the job he does? don't be silly

this account is keeping my spirits up Alan Shearer's Eyes @HowAlanSeesIt Torres displays a lack of movement. Ignore the previous clips of him running about and look at his lack of movement here #motd2

Didn't MON also get AV into Europe, and then treat every European game with (seeming) contempt by sending out completely under strength teams. Yup, 2nd an entire 2nd string to moscow once in the knockout stage as I recall "to chase the top 4" he drew the following game. Megson did something similar for Bolton (though it was to survive in the league which they did)
-
before a clash of the "big 3" (i use big 3 because arsenal are now closer to the rest of us mere mortal clubs) I'm only surprised we managed to get on first
-
Pretty rare that it doesn't happen before any manager is sacked tbh, at any club. That's true. Looking through some of his previous club's forums makes for grim reading though. That bald nutter who owned West Ham called him "a cancer" for example. Wouldn't exactly trust the opinion of that fella tbh, he was an awful owner
